At #3 overall, the stakes are high, but so is the floor. That's why I've shifted to preferring a nice, safe defensive pick with no legal or medical issues -- Jamal Adams or Solomon Thomas.

Do that and it's hard to be criticized. Gamble on a QB or an injured guy and you open yourself to a world of hurt.

Stunning. Risky. Pace and Fox have staked their future employment on this pick.

Seems expensive unless there was another bidder wanting Trubisky.

Apparently this is the going rate. Maybe the Bears got off relatively cheaply.

They got taken... Simply unbelievable. I was right. They made a bad trade and then took the wrong person with it.
Reading the comments on Bears' sites is really fun.
The Bears are the laughing stock of this years draft.

1. They must really like Trubisky.
2. It wasn't paranoia, it was competitive bidding. Probably against Cleveland.

Did they pay too high a price? Absolutely. But at least they committed to a path.

Their success or failure will determine the length of continued employment for Pace and Fox. My guess is they have 2 years to turn this mess around.
