It's a pretty precipitous fall from being an NFL first-rounder... though I have trouble feeling sorry for him. Pretty sure Tebow will land on his feet.
And I'm also pretty sure HT has no aspirations as a player.

I feel bad for Tebow's agent. Last year at this point his player was being traded for two NFL draft picks. Now his only offer to be a quarterback is with the Omaha Beef.

Montana was more accurate, however. Arguably the best field general who every played the game.

Given both at same age I'd take Montana every day of the week and twice on Sunday (appropriate here ). However, given 5 year pro Montana vs 1st year Elway, I think Elway is the better choice (since that means you basically get a full career PLUS five years of a superstar QB for the price of one superstar QB). Especially if they get more than just 1 for 1 in the deal (which they probably should have). I'm also not sure how clear it was that Montana was the greatest QB of all time at that point (I was what, 2 years old, so I certainly don't remember). Elway of course could've been a bust, but he was sort of like Andrew Luck IIRC - as close to a guarantee as you could get.

As some may remember I am a Detroit fan. I'll pause while you hurl insults and derision....
Ok. I'd give their draft a B-/C+. They went after positional needs and took some chances even within that approach. Obviously Ziggy is going to be one of those smartest/dumbest ever types of moves. If Bush performs and they can get someone to get Megatron some space, as well as shoring up their D, they maybe able to get back to where they were. A big if. They've had horrible luck at RB and their secondary is a joke...but that D line is starting to look downright scary!!
Then I remember that they drafted a PUNTER and come crashing back down to earth. That better be one bad ass punter lol!

I've been saying for the last 4 years that Detroit is rising. You're preaching to the choir as far as me goes.
Talk to Guy. He's the Detroit native that gives me crap for saying his team is going to be a force.

Dude, they won like 4 games last year. That's the opposite of rising.

In the last 4 years, Frisco, Seattle, and Atlanta have risen in the NFC. Detroit had one good year and reverted. Don't get me wrong, I like their skill players. But something is lacking there.

Detroit will probably suck this year, fire Schwartz and that whole D-line emphasis will go out the window as a new administration is oriented elsewhere and tries to rebuild with 1/2 the salary cap already committed to Stafford, Johnson, and Suh. A decade of turmoil ensues and the Lions will still be the Lions.

Or maybe Detroit will make the playoffs this year (and lose, natch), then be out of the playoffs the season after. And they'll be back to their old pattern.
