WHY? Back in '07 they did it the right way. (i think):

Give the games won for each team for each series for 1 point for the correct number of wins by the losing team

I want Ming to come in here and make things right again. I feel like I've been violated.

What if you pick a team to sweep but then the other team sweeps instead! You couldn't be more wrong but you get a point anyways????

This is like the only situation where this reasoning is true. If you pick any other series length it makes more sense that you don't get a bonus point.

Well that's a nice looking spreadsheet, way nicer than mine, but yes we do count the bonus point even if you got the team wrong.

Yes indeed, that is correct. You get the point if the number of games is right, even if the "wrong" team wins.
When I started the thread, I copied and pasted the "exact" rules from last year. And since those are the posted rules, that's the way it is.

If you have a problem with the scoring system, I understand... and you can bring it up next year before the contest begins, because it's too late to change it this year.
Which way is better? I really don't care, but I do know that I made my picks based on the stated rules.

People made their picks based on the current scoring system... to change the rules in the middle of the contest is a total disservice to all those that made their picks based on the current rules.

Make sure to bring it up next year, or actually start the thread next year so you can lay down the rules.
I only did what was done the previous year... and I stand by the rules being used.

I just assumed that the sensible rules were always used. The rules that are used for all the other playoff pick'em games.

I can understand why in your opinion, you think the current rules are not "sensible"... But also understand that it is sensible to use the previous years rules, especially when NO ONE raised a complaint last year, or even bothered to mention it this year until AFTER the fact.

I'm sorry you don't like the rules. Heck, I don't like the rules we use in some of the fantasy leagues I'm in... but I still play, and I drafted and play according to the stated rules.
