The NFL confirms that Minnesota Vikings quarterback Brett Favre has filed his retirement papers. More
It was a good run.

Since the NFL thread is closed by Imran who apparently wanted the last word against me, I will respond to Ming's derision of me picking Seattle over Chicago by pointing out that not only am I 5-3 picking the winner in the playoffs, which I believe is where you stand as well, but am 5-3 AGAINST THE SPREAD. If not for Ravens retardation, I would be leading Apolyton, both in picking the winner and against the spread.
And demonbinder is apparently a Bears fan as well? What the hell is going on? The Chicago representation is reaching absurd levels. You all have to either personally know each other or are all Ming DL's! Chicago is not that big to have a dozen Chicagorillas posting here but 0 from LA and 2 from NYC.
And speaking of Brett Favre, Sloww, the Super Bowl looks to me like it will be featuring two recent Favre teams!

Apparently? :roflmao
As Ming, -Jrabbit and RAH will attest I am the biggest Bears fan of them all. My glass is usually 3/4 full for them. I used to have season tickets and regretted having to give them up. And what do you mean Chicago isn't big enough? We are one of the largest cities in the U.S. Of course, we will have a larger representation.
Larger representation than LA and NYC which are each several times bigger than Chicago? We don't have a single regular poster here from LA and only two from NYC (Gepap and KrazyHorse).
Consider, the 10 largest cities in America in order of population and which posters are from these cities:
NYC (GePap and Krazyhorse)
LA (NO ONE!)
Chicago (Ming, rah, Jrabbit, Donegeal, you demonbinder, plus others)
Houston (Docfeelgood)
Phoenix (No one)
Philly (myself)
San Antonio (No one)
San Diego (Oerdin)
Dallas (Slowwhand; maybe Kaak if he is from Dallas, after all)
San Jose (No one)
Yeah the proportion of people from Chicago is way out of whack. Is Sid Meier from Chicago or something? Is Civ extra big over there or something?
There are more posters from Chicago here than from 8 of the 10 largest US cities COMBINED!

EPW, you're way down there.... better pick the Jets and Packers this week to get a little comeback going.

And since the NFL thread is closed, I'm putting this in here.
The Patriots up to their usual cheating bully ways All that hoopla about the Jets when the Pats did the same thing in Week 2.

I love the way you call anyone who doesn't offer Mark Sanchez a blowjob a hater, but you still need to find bonus hate-the-Pats material (from 4 months ago) even after the win.
Let it go, dude. No one cares.
Apolyton's Grim Reaper2008, 2010 & 2011 RIP lest we forget... SG (2) and LaFayette -- Civ2 Succession Games Brothers-in-Arms
Early lines for next week's games from sportsbook:
GB (-3) @ CHI
NYJ @ PIT (-3.5)
thx again Jonny, and congrats Rabbit
so that round was 3 and the upcoming semis are worth 5 with the SB going for 7? Sounds about right, but all us folks at 7 pts better gain some ground or it wont matter who we take in the SB. Gotta hit both this week or pack it up... Where'd ya go Bar? You can still make picks
I'll post my picks when I see some reliable weather reports, injury updates, and picks from Rabbit
Maybe you should've listened to me when I said that the Sanchize is a playoff QB.
