    • The Sanchize has more playoff wins than Stafford has wins period.

      • Al, let me ask you something.
Follett -- who suffered a neck injury that sent him to injured reserve in October -- described a general sense of frustration that Stafford has not been able to harness his abilities because injuries have held him back.
Are you as big an idiot as Follett? Obviously so. He just blew this out his ass. You had the opportunity to read it and dissect it, and still laughed with Follett. You're even worse.

          • I don't have time to explain it to you. Fine, hell. I'll take just a little time. A guy who spent the year on injured reserve is criticizing someone else for being injured?

              • Jason Whitlock made a total fool of himself today. He heard his column was being slagged on Chicago sports radio and called in to defend himself. He ended up on the air about a half-hour with Boers & Bernstein on The Score. Kinda weird, because they are fans of his and not fans of Cutler. They skewered him for calling Cutler a quitter and he would not back down, saying the Bears are lying about the MRI and he puts his faith in the words of the "men who had played the game" who were calling him a pansy. When informed that guys like MJD and Deion were backing off their initial statements, he said those guys "have no guts."

                Unbelievable.

People like you are the reason I will never root for the Jets, Pittsburgh, Atlanta or any team that gives their QB a moronic nickname, and use it constantly.

                    • It just got real, son.

Jay Cutler(notes) and girlfriend Kristin Cavallari dined at Mastro's Steakhouse on Sunday after the Bears' 21-14 loss to the Packers in the NFC championship game.

Cutler, who left the game in the third quarter with a knee injury, was not on crutches but "he limped a tiny bit," according to a source. The couple was joined by 11 other people in Mastro's private upstairs dining room, and our spies tell us that he took the stairs rather than the elevator.

                      • So... walking around and taking the stairs is proof that he could have played the demanding position of QB in an NFL game... yeah, right.

                          http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/New-Orleans-Saints-say-Drew-Brees-played-six-weeks-with-Jay-Cutlers-injury-012411

As debate continued to rage over whether Bears quarterback Jay Cutler could have played on with a MCL tear in Sunday's NFC title game loss to the Packers, it emerged Monday that the Saints' Drew Brees played with a similar injury for six weeks this season.

While discussing whether Cutler could have stayed in the game, New Orleans fullback Heath Evans told ESPN's "First Take" program that Saints quarterback Brees was able to play through the injury for weeks.

“Sorry, Drew, I love you, but Drew Brees played six weeks with a torn MCL," Evans said. “I know what Drew Brees did with a torn MCL."
Let's see. This year, we also saw Brett Favre play through everything including broken bones in his foot, Philip Rivers played with a torn ACL in the AFC Championship a few years back, and remember when Donovan McNabb played with a broken fibula?

I know I know. I'm not questioning Cutler who must be tough to play with diabetes but also since it wasn't his decision and you can never know the severity of an injury when it happens but to play devil's advocate we've seen quarterbacks play with the same or worse.

Remember Byron Leftwich at Marshall when he played with a broken tibia?

                          • The most ludicrous part of it, to me, was Deion Sanders even opening his mouth. He's on record for having said he was paid to cover, not tackle.

                            • In other NFL news...

Chad Ochocinco may become a thing of the past.

The Cincinnati Bengals receiver said Tuesday that he intends to change his name back to Chad Johnson.
                              Also,

Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens on the New York Jets?

That's how the receivers want next year to play out.

The Cincinnati Bengals receiving duo -- in their T.Ocho Show on the Versus network -- declared their intentions to join gang green.

"They will make it to this point every year," Ochocinco said (via ESPN) of the Jets, who just lost in the AFC title game for the second straight year.

"I'd do anything to play for someone like Rex Ryan or anyone who has that type of mentality."

Ochocinco is still under contract to the Bengals next season. Owens is set to become a free agent.

"I'm jumping on that bandwagon, too, because I was thinking the exact same thing, Chad," Owens said.

And Ochocinco's battle of ill will with Bengals coach Marvin Lewis continued on Monday.

Asked about Ochocinco's remarks last week that suggested he wanted to join the New England Patriots, Lewis took a shot at his receiver in comments to the Boston Herald.

Said the coach, "(Bill) Belichick's smarter than that."
Can you imagine the circus the Jets would be next year with T.Ocho? Fortunately, the Jets are already stacked at receiver with Edwards, Holmes, and Cotchery and it seems like T.Ocho are only saying that to diss Marvin Lewis.

And considering the way Carson Palmer is demanding a trade, how Marvin Lewis not only got an extension but did it on his terms is beyond comprehension.

                              • Alby, on the one hand you say you're not questioning Cutler's toughness and that it wasn't even his decision, but in the same post, you compare this situation to McNabb, Leftwich and Favre, saying they all played with 'worse'. Comparing broken bones to torn ligaments is not exactly apples to apples. That's not devil's advocacy; it just plain disingenuous. (And FWIW, Byron Leftwich's coach at Marshall should have been fired for endangering him like that. It was reckless and stupid, not heroic.)

                                And BTW:
-Brees had a Grade I sprain, not a Grade II. Quite different. Heath Evans is a bozo.
-Rivers was ACL, not MCL. Again, different. You can't plant and throw without MCL support.

And now ragging on him because he can walk a flight of stairs? Please. OMG, I think I just saw Cutler playing fetch with his dog and his arm looked fine!

I hate defending a punk like Cutler, but this is turning into character assassination.
