  • 10 sacks. 9 in the first half. Todd Collins being able to get the ball out quickly was the only reason the Giants didn't match or break the record. Oh well.

    • 3rd QB isn't technically active, is he?

      • Brutal performance by the Bears tonight. Totally pwned. In the immortal words of Dennis Green: "The Bears are who we thought they were."

        I can't believe:
        1. Ben played the race card, twice, in the Vick discussion.
Ben, if that was trolling, you fail. If you actually believe that the entire media is somehow seduced by the fact that Michael Vick is black, you are either racist or incredibly naive. The fact of the matter: that they are writing storylines, based on actual performance, of an underdog/comeback situation. It's the kind of story that draws readers and eyeballs; it's just that simple. I'm not fan of Michael Vick as a human being either, but let's focus on performance here.

        2. Flash suggested Cutler was faking it. (For that matter, Alby also gloated that the Bears were giving up.)
That's just cold; the man was hurt. But Cutler has never missed a game in his career. Say what you will about his quarterbacking; he's not a quitter.

          • If Kolb's concussion is any indication, don't expect Cutler around next week against the Panthers. And maybe not Collins either, depending upon his injury.

Deangelo Williams and Jonathon Stewart are going to have a field day against this Bears defense though.

            • Not sure why you're so down on the Bears' D. They played reasonably well, particularly considering the field position they were given. Their rush D is quite solid; and while their pass D is a bit suspicious, it usually plays well enough. They held GB, DAL, and NYG each to pretty low point totals, and all three teams have theoretically good offenses. This week they were on the field basically the whole game, with terrible field position, and a Giants O that didn't have to try very hard. Pretty much the worst situation for a D...

              • I want to know who's bright idea it was to put the Giants on Sunday night twice in the first 4 weeks of the season.

                ACK!

They lose by 1 in Chicago and 2 in Greenbay. That's definitely an improvement over previous years.

                          • Great article in the NY Times:

The Eagles are now facing the prospect of swallowing their three-year investment in Kevin Kolb and signing Michael Vick to a new contract.

Vick’s injury certainly complicates the Eagles’ season, considering how lifeless their offense was with Kevin Kolb and how Vick’s absence illuminated the problems the offensive line has with pass protection when anyone less than the best running quarterback in history is under center.

But Vick’s injury did clarify one thing: he is the Eagles’ best quarterback and they will have to sign him to a long-term contract. Assuming he returns shortly, they may have to think about a new contract fairly soon.
One problem: if Kolb continues to play the way he did Sunday, his trade value could drop. Although he was competent in completing the short throws the Redskins were allowing, he did not hit on two strikes downfield and clearly did not energize the offense the way Vick had.
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

                              If you can take it.

                              • My optimism from the first three games is pretty much shot. Before the season began, I was spouting 4-6 wins. Then came the big victories over super bowl contenders and my worries about the same defense from last year and an even worse offensive line dissapated as they never came to the surface. Now that the problems I saw coming are showing themselves, I am back to being disstraut. At least my FF team will probably win.
