NFL - Are You Ready For Some Football?! - Off Season
Compartment Syndrome is a pretty serious injury usually developing in the lower legs, as is the case for Nicks.
Compartment syndrome is the compression of nerves and blood vessels within an enclosed space. This leads to muscle and nerve damage and problems with blood flow.
Long-term (chronic) compartment syndrome can be caused by repetitive activities, such as running, which increase the pressure in a compartment only during that activity.
Surgery is usually required. Long surgical cuts are made in the fascia to relieve the pressure. The wounds are generally left open (covered with a sterile dressing) and closed during a second surgery, usually 48-72 hours later. Skin grafts may be required to close the wound.
It's usually a season-ending injury but Nicks must not have a bad case if he's expected to return in 3 weeks.

A friend of mine on facebook notes that the last two teams the Packers have played immediately fired their head coach.
I'm thinking that's got to be some kind of record...
I'm sure Favre is wondering WTF took them so long.

Sorry, Ozzy. No obvious fantasy plays to replace him. Kevin Boss might get more involved but I been grabbed him in D/ST when Smith got hurt. Kevin Curtis is said to be trying out but still... no point in rushing out to get him nor any point in picking up Hagan or Calhoun either. It's all blah on the fantasy front.
*MRT probably will rush out and pick up Kevin Curtis when he reads this.

Hakeem Nicks out for probably the next 3 weeks with compartment syndrome. So no Steve Smith. No Hakeem Nicks. Domenik Hixon obviously has been on IR all year. Victor Cruz is on IR. Ramses Barden on IR. Great.
Time for Eli to show those Manning genes off and make things happen with nothing.
The Giants have only 3 healthy receivers on the roster... Mario Manningham, rookie Duke Calhoun, and Derek Hagan who was just signed last week.
If the Giants continue to win games with these crew of receivers very reminiscent of what Peyton has in Indie (though at least Peyton has freaking Reggie Wayne!), then I expect Eli to get props from the haters. I mean down 5 freaking receivers! FIVE.
What do you mean "continue to win games"? They are on a 2 game losing streak.
ACK!
Don't try to confuse the issue with half-truths and gorilla dust!
Well, he did try to compare Eli to Peyton, who is on a 1 game losing streak (quite possibly 2 come next week) and 6-4 overall, so it's not exactly a high bar to clear.

they really need to do something about the Lions and Cowboys on thanksgiving every year.

Which Thanksgiving Day game are you most looking forward to watching?
I look forward to stuffing my face with good food and watching ANY football on Thanksgiving... but since you ask
Patriots at Lions - The Lions are a "tradition", and I will admit they are looking better this year, even though their record still sucks.
Throw in the Pats, and it should have some entertainment value.
Saints at Cowboys - If it was the Cowboys from a few weeks ago, this had the potential to be a blow out like the Lions game usually is... Hopefully, this could be a much better match up now. Should be a fun one.
Bengals at Jets - I guess it all depends on which Jets show up, and which Bengals show up. This could be an exciting game, or simply nap time.
So again, to answer your question... ALL OF THEM! Bring on the food and the football!
As far as the Cowboys go, they won't because they can't. When the Cowboys were first approached about doing it, the proposal was accepted under the terms that it would be yearly.
Just another on the long list of thinking ahead by Dallas. So suck it up and get over it, Al.

Nothing lasts forever. Both the lions and cowboys have overstayed their welcome on Thanksgiving. The dumbest thing is having them both from the NFC so they have to schedule one against an AFC opponent so CBS actually has a game to broadcast within their rules. But the only way I see it changing is if viewership drops due to continued bad ball games. The lions have contributed greatly in that regard. If the cowboys fall into a similar extended malaise, we'll see change.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

I would be surprised to learn that Tex Schramm didn't have it put into writing.
The Dallas Cowboys like to consider themselves America's Team. That may or may not be true, but the Cowboys certainly get a lot of national TV attention, including an annual guaranteed slot every Thanksgiving.
the Cowboys sought a guarantee that they would regularly host Thanksgiving games as a condition of their very first one (since games on days other than Sunday were uncommon at the time and thus high attendance was not a certainty).

They didn't think up the American's Team nickname.
