14-6 would sure look a lot better than 14-0.

I'm all for going for it on 4th down if you think you can make it instead of going for a 'risky' 50+ yarder but if you're going to punt and it's a touchback, what the hell? Mightaswell go for the score or the first down.

That last punt netted the Bears only 11 yards in field position.

    • Sloppy play in all phases. If 21 knocked the ball back instead of catching it there's no touchback. And why isn't Hester out there on all punts and kickoffs!?! Lucky it's only 14-0 at the half.

Hopefully we get a 3rd quarter like we had against the Jets.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

      • 14-0 at the half. Feels like 40-0. Bears look lifeless.

I can only assume Gould couldn't hit from 50 in warmups.

          • C'mon Jay. Too many missed passes. Defense really needs to step it up and get some turnovers and probably even score. :ack

            • There are entirely too many Chicagorillas here. I know I've said it a lot but it's mind boggling to me. Chicago isn't THAT big.

Universal agreement that no one else matters.

Maybe we just care more about our teams.

                        • Welcome to the Caleb Hanie Era. He's talented -- good arm and mobile. Certainly more upside than Collins.

It's only fitting that, in a season where the Bears benefitted from playing backup QBs several times, that's what they'll have to overcome. But the bottom line is, Cutler had opportunities and failed. The defense is holding on by the skin of its teeth, and that's the only reason this isn't a total blowout.

Caleb Hanie entered the NFC Championship Game in place of injured starter Jay Culter and injured backup Todd Collins, leading the Bears to a touchdown in his first series on the field.
