You're the one equating consistency with punishing everyone who gets investigated, regardless of the results of the investigation. Yes, you're an idiot. I only quoted you, not any commentators. Again, you're an idiot. Any commentator agreeing with your comparison, or making it himself, is also an idiot. You equated "didn't know X was happening" with "didn't know X was against the rules." Yet again, you're an idiot.
Let me see if I can make you understand the difference in that last one:
Al approaches Bob and says "Carl has hired me to arrange a murder for hire. He'd like you to kill Dave, and is willing to pay $100,000 for it." Bob goes to the police and Carl and Al are arrested. In scenario 1, Carl's defense is "I have no idea what Al's talking about. I never authorized him to do that and didn't even know it was happening." In scenario 2, his defense is "I hired Al for that, but didn't know it was illegal." Assuming Carl's telling the truth in both cases, he's a free man in scenario 1, and going to prison for a long time in scenario 2.Solomwi is very wise. - Imran Siddiqui

The Ohio State penalties seem a little harsh (and bogus given that they are selling their own property). I dont think the Alabama players who were caught selling textbooks (after all they didnt need them) were suspended for no more than 1 or 2 games. Maybe OS tried to hide the infraction, didnt kiss enough NCAA ass, or throw the players far enough 'under the bus' when they found out about the situation.Last edited by SpencerH; December 26, 2010, 13:02.We need seperate human-only games for MP/PBEM that dont include the over-simplifications required to have a good AI

Where were all your powerhouse schools like Miami, Ohio State, Alabama, etc. back then? Huh?

1930: 8-0-1 overall (conference 5-0, tied for 1st in conf)
1931: 8-1-1 (5-1, tied for 1st)
1932: 8-0 (6-0, tied for 1st), National Champions, as picked by various organizations
1933: 7-0-1 (5-0-1, tied for 1st), repeat National Champs
At the time the Rose Bowl selected a Pacific Coast Conference team and matched it against various teams from the east, which didn't include Michigan since the first one in 1902. The Big Nine (at the time) and PCC affiliation didn't start till the 1947 game.
U-M alternated 1-7 and 4-4 seasons till '38-9, when they finished in the bottom of the AP polls. 1940 started a string of top 10 finishes and two more National Championships:
1940: 7-1 (3-1, 2nd), AP #3
1941: 6-1-1 (3-1-1, 2nd), AP #5
1942: 7-3 (3-2, 3rd), AP #9
1943: 8-1 (6-0, tied for 1st), AP #3
1944: 8-2 (5-2, tied for 2nd), AP #8
1945: 7-3 (5-1, 2nd), AP #6
1946: 6-2-1 (5-1-1, 2nd), AP #6
1947: 10-0 (6-0, tied for 1st), AP #1 - in the 1948 Rose Bowl, U-M trounced USC 49-0
1948: 9-0 (6-0, 1st), AP #1 *
1949: 6-2-1 (4-1-1, tied for 1st), AP #7
1950: 6-3-1 (4-1-1, 1st), AP #9, UPI #6
* - at the time the Big Nine didn't allow a team to go to the Rose Bowl in consecutive years

Tenn was always a coin flip as to who would turn up. I did expect GA and SC to win even though I thought they were weak. It looks tough to win 7, especially since I'm unsure about Arkansas and Kentucky. It'll be 3-3 after today though and I'm looking forward to Alabama destroying Mich State.
