Didn't even have to check it, which is what made it seem like such a bizarre "fact" to throw out. I'm pretty sure 95% of the other Auburn fans watching had the same "Uh, I don't remember EVER running the wildcat when Brown was here" moment I did. Throw in that Malzahn (now Auburn's OC) introduced it in our division and ran it against us with McFadden, and a significant chunk of the audience they knew would be watching can be expected to know it's bull**** right off the bat. Of course, they also called Clemson players by Auburn players' names several times. All in all, not their best night.

Go to 3:22...
Unfortunately, the clip starts after the snap so you can't tell what happened before Cadillac got the ball and it's probably just a HB pass since Jason Campbell is behind center.
Also at :20, you can see Cadillac Williams throw another pass off of a HB option. The snap went to Campbell, though so not technically wildcat.

Doubtful, Alby. I actually remember that play at 3:22, and yes, it was a HB pass. The halfback pass was something we ran several times in 2004 under Al Borges. I think Kirk just associated Brown with the wildcat because of his running it in Miami, which is understandable, and either assumed he ran it at Auburn or, more likely, just said it without really thinking about it first.
Still, fun clip to watch. Thanks. Lord, having Brown, Williams and Campbell in the same backfield was a lot of fun.

What do you do if you're in a position like Stanford against Wake Forest? Stanford winning 55-17 with 5 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Obviously the first string, and maybe some 2nd stringers, are whipping Wake Forest. Just run up the score? Do you play Sophomores and Freshmen? Wouldn't that look kind of crappy?Life is not measured by the number of breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breath away.

By that point I hope most, if not all, of your starters are done for the day. Why wouldn't you play as many people as you can? They're going to need to get game experience sometime. Might as well be when their inevitable mistakes can't lose the game for you. Why would it look crappy, or better yet, what do you mean by look crappy?Solomwi is very wise. - Imran Siddiqui
