I'd just be happy if snoopy recognized that flex RBs makes taking a 3rd rb earlier has no downside and leads to conformity in drafting and promotes a singular successful draft strategy.

I said I was indifferent about a rule change taking effect, and that I agreed that it was not a big deal. I said absolutely nothing about actually changing the rule. I'm certainly not going to do so mid-draft, as I said a long while ago."You're the biggest user of hindsight that I've ever known. Your favorite team, in any sport, is the one that just won. It was a fun debate anyway Looking forward to it again next year (before the draft of course)"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

Im at least happy that QBs get 6 pts per TD and points per completion along with PPR for receivers allowing there to be somewhat more viable varied strategy in a 14 team league non auction league."I hope I get to punch you in the face one day" - MRT144, Imran Siddiqui

I definitely like things that help vary the strategy, but I think there's too much focus on taking away from the RB draft. PPR helps RBs more than it helps WRs in many ways (WRs end up scoring more as a group, but you don't get that much more separation; while RBs end up with more separation due to pass-catching RBs often also being otherwise high scoring RBs), as an example; screwing with the scoring doesn't necessarily have the desired effect. I think that there is always many strategic choices available, even if the points are fairly uneven across positions; the fact that you make the choice of taking or not taking a top TE in the third round does not make it any more or less strategic.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

You take a third RB slightly earlier than if it were not flex WR, but as basically everyone takes 5th RB/WR after QB, and most people take it after TE, it doesn't really change the dynamics all that much; instead, it helps balance WR and RB, in some leagues RBs go a bit earlier than WRs, and in some the opposite happens. Certainly, if you want to discourage RB drafting, then you could take away the RB part of the flex - but in this league that's probably not a positive thing, as QBs were drafted very early, and plenty of WRs went early also."I hope I get to punch you in the face one day" - MRT144, Imran Siddiqui

As are you. I appreciate the discussion we had, by the way - despite me thinking you are simply wrong in your approach, you do seem to have an understanding of how this should be thought of, and it makes it more interesting to discuss when we're on the same page there<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.

I see Jrabbit is viewing the thread. I can only imagine him shaking his head at the last two or three pages (at least he knows what to clarify before starting the draft in the IDP league )"Flutie was better than Kelly, Elway, Esiason and Cunningham." - Ben Kenobi

These are the NFL teams that have yet to have a player selected in our draft:
Oakland, Cleveland, Washington, Tampa
Interesting that most of us have 1 QB, 2 RB, and 2 WR. Berzerker is the sore thumb sticking out with his 0 QB, 3 RB, 1 WR, 1 TE
If that trend pans out, Sloww, Guy, Imran, and joncha will be taking WR's with their next picks and duke o' york will be taking an RB.

You're not taking into account the Imraniness effect. Imran will never do the expected, except when you expect him to do the unexpected, in which case he will do the expected. So your theory is entirely flawed.<Reverend> IRC is just multiplayer notepad.
