Im at least happy that QBs get 6 pts per TD and points per completion along with PPR for receivers allowing there to be somewhat more viable varied strategy in a 14 team league non auction league.

Why would I do that??? It's patently untrue It makes managing your backups marginally easier, but if you actually crunch the numbers it doesn't have that significant of an effect. You take a third RB slightly earlier than if it were not flex WR, but as basically everyone takes 5th RB/WR after QB, and most people take it after TE, it doesn't really change the dynamics all that much; instead, it helps balance WR and RB, in some leagues RBs go a bit earlier than WRs, and in some the opposite happens. Certainly, if you want to discourage RB drafting, then you could take away the RB part of the flex - but in this league that's probably not a positive thing, as QBs were drafted very early, and plenty of WRs went early also.

I definitely like things that help vary the strategy, but I think there's too much focus on taking away from the RB draft. PPR helps RBs more than it helps WRs in many ways (WRs end up scoring more as a group, but you don't get that much more separation; while RBs end up with more separation due to pass-catching RBs often also being otherwise high scoring RBs), as an example; screwing with the scoring doesn't necessarily have the desired effect. I think that there is always many strategic choices available, even if the points are fairly uneven across positions; the fact that you make the choice of taking or not taking a top TE in the third round does not make it any more or less strategic.
