Sure, the Hogs rivalries are not as big in the SEC and the games against UT and A&M were, but now every conference game is big, week in and week out, plus they have another 9 years at Jerryworld with A&M, and I think they will play UT again in the next couple of years.
You need to have a talk with Frank Broyles. He naturally says that he doesn't regret the move (what else can he say), but that there are no rivalries for Arkansas in the SEC and he does miss that part.

This isn't about Arkansas. Not now. They did their deal several years ago.
This is about Nebraska screwing the pooch, if it was more money that they wanted. Pac 10 and Big 12 will both be paying more than Big 10.

This is not just an "I won't miss them" deal. The whole Big 12 feels the same way.

No, they won't. Under the agreement Beebe just negotiated, the most optimistic TV revenue projection for Texas (including additional revenues from the Longhorn Sports Network) is $20 million a year. That's by far the most any team in the new Big 12 can expect. Purdue, on the other hand, made $22 million in TV revenue last season and can expect to add another million onto that figure for the coming season. Texas needed to screw over the rest of the Big 12 just to get close to the money every single team in the Big Ten makes.

      edit:
Sports media consultant John Mansell believes that Big 12 schools "could see those projections being reached because of ESPN/ABC's and/or Fox's desire to not have to compete with a Big 12 Network." In addition, Texas is "exploring launching its own television network" with the help of multimedia rights partner IMG College. Navigate Marketing President A.J. Maestas said, "IMG is ready to move on a network." Maestas said projections that UT, Texas A&M and Oklahoma could earn $20M annually are "too high, just not realistic"

      • gjramsey...1969 Arkansas vs. Texas. One of the greatest collegiate football games in history.

          • It's opinion, Drake. The very reason I said one of greatest. As you gain maturity, hopefully you'll realize these things.

            • 1971 Nebraska vs. Oklahoma is widely acknowledged as the greatest game ever.

November 25, 1971: The best lead written about the '71 Game of the Century came from Dave Kindred, who back then wrote for the Louisville Courier-Journal. He wrote, "They can quit playing now, they have played the perfect game." - ESPN's Beano Cook

1969 Arkansas vs. Texas, on the other hand, didn't even involve any black players. I'm not surprised you would think that "Dixie's Last Stand" was one of the greatest games ever...

I remember people's reaction to Jerry LeVias. "The first African-American scholarship athlete and second African-American football player in the Southwest Conference" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jerry_LeVias)
SMU, 1965 Freshman. I remember my reaction. I thought he was great. Spout all your bigoted remarks. It doesn't really matter.

                • In 1969, segregated Texas and Arkansas played a game Sloww thinks is among the greatest ever.

Two years later, proud black men like Johnny Rodgers, Rich Glover and Greg Pruitt played for Nebraska and Oklahoma in the actual greatest game ever.

                    • And Utah goes to the Pac-12.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

Kind of a push, for now. But, it will get worse for them.

Bad week because it looked like they might've been able to snag some Big 12 leftovers, before Texas struck their new TV deal.

                              • Still, they didn't come out of this any worse off; Boise replaces Utah nicely. The Mountain West still have a tough road to AQ status, but they're also still clearly the most competitive of the mid-major conferences.
