Drake's likely right that ND would make more money from the Big 10 TV contract, in large part because the Big 10 is in effect taxing the cable subscribers in the Midwest through the Big 10 Network. Bringing Notre Dame into the fold would help bring the Big 10 Network into basic cable on more systems in the Midwest, so Notre Dame would more than earn its keep.

HOWEVER, the TV money is small potatoes for Notre Dame, while it's a big deal for most of the rest of the Big 10. National coverage helps support the endowment, a $5 billion pot. Notre Dame has a national almunae base that it needs to keep together. And Notre Dame is not a state school (it has no reference to a specific state), and must recruit nationally.

I never disagreed that they wouldn't make more money on the TV deal... how much is still up in the air and not a "fact" as Drake would like everybody to believe.

And yes, he is ignoring everything else in the equation, like he normally does.
