It was a good excuse to try and drive home the difference between how deserving a team is (Elo-Chess) and how good they are (Predictor). I don't think I've succeeded in driving that difference home to the less intellectually capable posters here, but it was worth a shot.KH FOR OWNER!

The less intellectually capable posters like you fail to see that the predictor is just that... a predictor and not reality. This was more than proven if you had looked at "your must be right" predictor for the games that Nebraska has lost. They had favorable matchups and still lost anyway. But I guess that you will never look at the full picture, and just rely on a single stat... but it worth a shot.Keep on Civin'

No... you obviously don't understand what the Predictor is... it's simply that, a predictor. While Jeff does claim it's the best indication of score. No where does Jeff claim it's an indication of which team is "BEST". You also have to remember that it's based only on points. Nebraska's 142 - 12 slaughtering of 3 cream puffs skew the predictor since points is the only variable. You don't seem to understand that. Like any ranking, you have to look at the basis of the data to see how to really judge the ability of the system to portray reality. In this case, Nebraska's numbers are totally inflated due to their cream puff beating, and not the total picture, as is reflected in everything else.Originally posted by Drake Tungsten View PostKeep on Civin'
