Looking again at Kopitar, I'm actually not that displeased with my pick just before him-- My last pick before the 76th was Henrick Sedin and with 36 points and +8 he is comparable to Kopitar. While he was picked 15 spots earlier, it was all the same from my point of view

Who were the biggest flops thus far?

I see 7 players with original rankings in the top 100 that are currently available. Some player have injuries etc-- Looking only at yahoo rankings (I know they are not perfect but they DO measure the stats in our pool pretty well) see that the top 9 ranked at the outset all have rankings in the top 30 currently

Some disappointments after that (sometimes njury explains things)

But purely on production compared to draft position, Statsny is the guy from among the drafted.

On that metric, I think Kaberle and Richards have him beat.

wow -- another great goalie night-- In auction, my Miller/Mason combo scored two shutouts !! Has that ever happened before for anyone?

Would as recently as Monday count? (though it was in the Auction league). I had 2 shut outs that night, from Bryzgalov & Varlamov.

On reflection (previously I just looked at Statsny and Kopitar) If its just production from draft position I agree its Richards-- If you throw in a metric about position played, I would give it to you on Kaberle. His assist and PPA stats are something else. Hell he shares the league lead with Thornton for PPA and is 3rd in the league in assists-- To get that kind of production from a d-spot is fantastic

Nope auction-- thats where I had it-- I simply hadn't bothered to check at all since I thought it would be somewhat rare-- geez good for you-- the double shutout trick


Bryzgalov has been quite good all year for you so no surprise there though

Frankly I don't know why Richards slipped to 139th.

He's been about a point a game every season he's played in in recent memory, including last year. The injury risk wasn't THAT bad to push him past 100 on the depth chart...

Its probably that the rankings don't allow for that much judgement. It appears that quite a few players with injuries last year were ranked way worse than any human looking at it might think

I had my luckiest/most successful last minute pickup ever-- In auction I grabbed Stewart RW-Col since I hadn't been two happy overall with my RW-- I got him late Saturday so he was eligible for Sunday-- He got 1 goal (I won the category by one) an assist (tied) and a PPA (tied)

Oh and Asher -- all your talk of Richards convinced me and I picked him up . Hopefully his production stays up

Sure -- I wasn't saying I use O-rank-- I was just trying to logic out why a rank is as it is-- I simply think the yahoo systems have poor memories for prior years' performance when ranking someone that missed substantial time

Oh and Flames? lacklustre . . Its frustrating-- When they lose now it seems because they have become oddly complacent ( very odd given their lack of real accomplishments)--Two games in a row they have been outplayed-- I didn't realize playing better defense meant the forwards go to sleep

I can understand that. I was and am pretty high on your centres.

To be honest I don't know how long I can afford the luxury of 4 centres-- Thats far too much sitting out.... But I have been cooling to Peverley again so this at least gives me some flexibility if I choose to pick up a 3rd d-man or G.
