Only problem with that is the Lions feign competence.

Shaun Ellis fined $ 10K for throwing snow, not snow balls

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -- New York Jets defensive end Shaun Ellis has been fined $10,000 by the NFL for throwing snow at fans following the team's loss at Seattle on Sunday.

Several fans threw snowballs at New York players and staff as they walked off the field after the Seahawks' 13-3 victory. Ellis then walked over to a pile of snow, picked up a large chunk and tossed it into the stands at Qwest Field, appearing to hit at least a few fans. No one was believed to have been injured.

Ellis said Tuesday: "It was all in fun."

It's the latest troublesome incident involving Ellis, who was arrested for speeding and marijuana possession last month and could face a suspension next season under the league's substance-abuse policy.

I mean, if it was a snowball, yeah maybe but snow..must be more to it, I dont see the harm..............

Report: Cops find guns at Plaxico's house
Authorities searched the New Jersey home of Plaxico Burress last night and found two guns and the clothes the Giants wide receiver was wearing when he accidentally shot himself in the leg last month, according to multiple reports. Sources cited in those reports said detectives from the NYPD, officers from the Totowa, N.J., Police Department and investigators from the Manhattan district attorney's office discovered at least two weapons -- a 9-mm gun and a loaded rifle -- along with ammunition and the clothes from the Nov. 29 incident at the Latin Quarter nightclub in Manhattan. Sources also said that no permits for the weapons were found. According to one report, Burress was not at home at the time of the search

              That's nothing

NEW YORK (TICKER) —For imitating an angel, New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker had his wings clipped.

The NFL on Wednesday fined Welker $10,000 for making a “snow angel” during a touchdown celebration in Sunday’s 47-7 victory over the Arizona Cardinals.

Welker was punished for “unsportsmanlike conduct for participation in an illegal demonstration by going to the ground.”

According to league rules, players are prohibited from going to the ground for a TD celebration unless it is in prayer.

“It was a spur of the moment deal, and you can be sure that it won’t happen again,” Welker told the Boston Globe

Oh, I knew Welker would get fined for that. They go after excessive celebration pretty hard. But Ellias was playing around with the fans after the game was over.

                      • Some interesting games today. Bears-Houston and Giants-Vikings are, of course, my greatest interests. Indy-Tennessee will have most key starters resting (Manning to play one series). 50-60 mph winds in Buffalo have blown the goalposts out of true; it's supposed to be fixed by game time.

And Detroit will set the NFL record for single-season futility.
