I'm sure I know what the reaction to this will be, but I do feel bad for the Pats. An 11-5 team missing the playoffs sucks, particularly after the way they fought through all of the injuries this year to some very talented players. I suspect they would have been bounced by the Ravens in the first round anyway, but it still would have been nice for Cassel etc. to have been rewarded for stepping up (admittedly, against a not-so-tough schedule). You know, other than with the $60m or whatever contract he's going to land in the upcoming tag-and-trade deal.
