  • On average, no. Maybe Baylor since they're in the South.

OK. I obviously disagree, but we can't prove it either way.

I absolutely see your point that, ON AVERAGE, teams in the ACC had a better record than teams in the Big 12. I still say, though, that the Big 12 was a better conference because it produced teams like OU, UT, and Tech. Also, it's no coincidence that OU and UT are powerhouses year after year, yet year after year ACC teams do nothing, nationally.

        • Bradford wins the Heisman in a close battle. Amazingly, Tebow got the most 1st place votes, but ended up finishing in 3rd place.

Three great candidates Imran, tough go for two of them, IMHO

              • Gee... yet another QB... what a surprise. And with the exception of Palmer and Bush lately, winning the Heisman is pretty much the kiss of death for the NFL.

Congrats to all three excellent candidates this year. Only one could win, and it would have been hard to pick somebody that didn't deserve it out of those three.

Considering all three of the finalists were QBs, it really shouldn't have been that much of a surprise .

That's a bit too far. True, they usually give it to those players who thrive in a college system, but Charles Woodson has had a great career, Ricky Williams was very good until he decided he liked pot better, Eddie George was good until he got hurt, and the Barry Sanders guy... well, he was pretty decent .

As you go back you can find some Heisman winners that had really good NFL careers (Marcus Allen, Tony Dorsett, Earl Campbell, etc).

The last 10 years... I'd say 3 of the 9 (excluding Tebow) have had productive NFL careers, and none are stars. Certainly the 'kiss of death' when you consider that these are the cream of the crop of the college players. In the last 20 years, only Barry and Eddie George really had stellar careers, which is still pretty pathetic.
