I don't know why they don't charge for a vote/text message ect, and then have the money go to a good cause (though what that would be I don't know). Prevent stuffing the ballot box, yet still let "the voice of the people" be heard. Perhaps a game ticket entitling you to a free vote.

People could still mass vote, but at least they would have to pay to do so, and who would pay large sums of money to make sure that Tanguay appears in the allstar game?

Most people don't care.

Iginla and Phaneuf will make it, as they should. That's all I know.

Flames?

Utter domination of the Kings!! So in 3 of their last 4 games they have completely outclassed their opposition. I know it was "only" LA last night but LA ios 5-3-2 in their last 10 so its not like they are losing every night. The other two wins were over Colorado and the same type of analysis can apply. Sure Colorado is 9-11 but FOUR of those losses are against the Flames so they are 9-7 against everyone else!! Bottom line is that the Flames in those 3 games looked like a dominant type team doing to the opposition what Detroit or San Jose so often does-- compeltely crushing them

In the other game they were competitive with Detroit - sure they lost but they did not get outclassed or outplayed-- They lost a game where they played it even for most of the game.

Now the big test is Vancouver. I confess the Canucks have surprised me. Yes Luongo does steal some games they do not deserve to win but in addition to that , the Canucks have often been very very good, particularly defensively and the scoring (the big question mark) has been there. heck Vancouver is like 4th in scoring in the conference!!

I hear Darryl Sutter talking yesterday and he was citing the losses in earlier divisional back to backs . He basically said if the Flames had split those, those 4 extra points would have the Flames in a position where they would have been very pleased.

So its early gut check time. The Flames had one last week Detroit but had only partial success (the valiant unsuccessful effirt type). Now its time to step up

I know the Oil losing to the Kings is not the end of the world -- that its a long season and any team can beat another yadda yadda yadda-- BUT these are the games the Oil really need. Its not enough to just get hyped up against the Flames and ride a great inspired effort to a win-- The NHL is a long hard slog and this was an LA team on the back end of a road back to back that had looked simply outclassed the night before.

Sparrow-- I know they can rebound-- they are still very much in the playoff hunt and I still believe they will rebound-- I recall strongly their energized team through the final games of last season and have noted their strong goaltending this year which has stolen a couple of games for them. But I HAVE to say that at this point they have been a disappointment-- This record when you have goalies playing well for you is just not good enough. I expected better from this team.

I did last night, and that worked. When I got back I could get yahoo again too. Must of been a chace/cookie issue?

Flubber have you seen a weirder week than our Auction League match up? As it stands right now I lead in all 5 of the forward categories (though by slim margins). My goalies however, have yet to play a game (GAA = 0.00 ) while yours have WON 5 games. I cannot win the goalie categories, but could still win the week 5-4 if I hold the forwards. Weird. I just hope that I don't somehow get a shutout today, as that would really suck.

I was thinking how weird it was myself. My goalies had been a disappointment most of the year and are finally having a great week-- but its a week where I am going to win the goalie categoires by default !!

My skaters??-- I think that no one on my auction team has less than 15 points on the season yet they somehow managed to get to the start of Friday with 1 assist among them. I finally got some scoring last night but your leads are still enough that a 5-4 win by you remains the most likely outcome
