Vick surrenders, jailed before sentencing on dogfighting charge

RICHMOND, Va. -- Michael Vick surrendered to U.S. marshals on Monday and will remain in jail until his sentencing on a dogfighting charge in three weeks.

The Atlanta Falcons quarterback is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 10 but turned himself in because he anticipates a prison term on the federal dogfighting conspiracy charge, according to a court document. Vick could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.

AFC South - the worst team is .500. While their combined record is the same as NFC East, there are two .500 teams there.

Nov 19 Offensive coordinator Ron Turner acknowledged after Sunday's loss that he should have given Benson more carries, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Recommendation: Benson, who gained 63 yards on his first two attempts Sunday, finished the game with only 11 carries. "We need to get him more carries than that," Turner said. "Some of it had to do with the situation in the game and certain times not getting first downs. But, yeah, we definitely need to get him the ball more." Turner added that his gameplan was to decrease Benson's workload by getting Adrian Peterson more time against Seattle, but it looks like he picked the wrong week to make that move. It's safe to assume Benson's touches won't be as limited in the weeks to come.

As for Benson, he's got a 3.3 yards per carry. That sucks. He's projected to barely crack 1000 yards rushing. Ron Dayne is doing better, for gods' sake!
