AHL- Apolyton Hockey League 07/08: IV The Rookie Menace
Just curious- I didn't see anything from the Nashville game-- I can see Mason's stats are not that great but how did he look?
I didn't see it either. But from what I've heard, he doesn't look too bad. The team infront of him is absolutely dreadful. Their D especially, and having Weber on the IR doesn't help.

This week is looking more appropriate. If I had played you last week, Flubber, we'd have tied 4-4. You're not as far ahead as the stats would indicate. And in fact, you've got the farthest to fall out of everyone here -- and with your newbie mistakes on overloading on goalies, it'll happen sooner than you think.

Actually about two weeks ago I highlighted this week as a rough one for my team-- Seeing Ottawa only plays once, I picked up Harding in the hope that I might get one good game and hopefully a win from him and try to compete in the goalie stats-- compared to what Bertuzzi gave me, I didn't feel I was losing much.
This was and is a damage control week for me-- as I identified before the week started, you may recall. I have commented lots on the ups and downs when measuring players in 2-4 game increments. So I expect to win some weeks and get trounced others-- part of the game . . .
AS for the newbie mistakes, probably true, but I have Harding for a specific purpose. I picked him specifically to give me a better shot at goalie stats this week. The other 4 are overkill I admit . But most weeks I should have a good shot at the goalie stats
Bottom line, I'm having fun. If I do things differently and people needle me for it, so be it. I enjoy a bit of banter.

If I got through this week only losing 3-2-3 I would frankly be delighted. I actually expected to be a bit further behind by now. I am just hoping Briere and Lecav can both get hot in the same stat and pot like 3 PPA's each tonight

One common mistake is loading up too heavily on a single team. You shouldn't toss all hope out the window if a single NHL team plays only 1 game.

Well I don't think anyone would see my picking up Gerber as a mistake--( maybe the drafting of Emery but not the Gerber pick-up)
IT wasn't just the Ottawa thing for this week. It also was
1. Nabokov has road back-to backs in Detroit in Columbus ( back-up probably gets a game)
2. Kolzig has road-home back-to back-- backup will almost certainly get a game
3. Opponent's goalies get FOUR games each( with only one back-to back-- total )--
4. A lot of my opponent's skaters play 4 times and they alternate nights nicely
So it was a tough week. Perhaps my players may excell and salvage it for me. There is upside in that Luongo faces Detroit TWICE for instance and they can be very very tough. I hope they fill the net !!!
But the Ottawa one game thing was just one factor in what made this a tougher week and alone would not have been a big deal .
I'm sure that others have had or will have weeks where the schedule is not that favorable but I would think they tend to even out over time. I just see this as MY tough week.
