Michigan (quite rightly) vanished altogether from the polls after losing to App State. No way on God's green earth is USC a top ten team at this point in the season.
USC lost because their QB played like crap. Michigan lost to App State because the entire team played like crap.

    ACK!

Just when you think Sparty is no longer Sparty...
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Looking at the box score, UCLA had SEVEN turnovers!! No wonder ND won
It was pretty crazy. ND had very, very conservative offensive playcalling. One or two intermediate passes all night plus a couple or three long shots. The rest turned out to be 1 or 2 yard runs or 0-10 yard passes. No turnovers.

Meanwhile, UCLA opened up its offense, even though it had a red-shirt freshman at QB after the first quarter. ND has good pass D (believe it or not), so UCLA's O was like a turnover machine.

Weis just sat back and waited for UCLA to implode.

            Yes

when you get a chance to tackle the starting QB, make sure to twist the knee.

I'd bet App State beats Stanford if they met ...

That said, UM didn't drop out of the polls after App State. I believe they stayed in until after the second loss.

That also said... I don't think USC should be top ten at the moment. They're still in because they're USC. Their 'high profile' win vs Nebraska is looking pretty meaningless now ...

Well, USC is a Top 10 team with a unranked QB. Who knows what may happen if Carroll decides Sanchez gets his chance. He may make USC play the type of football they have been for the past few years.

                    What?????

Mark Sanchez is no Johnny Unitas.

Throwing four picks might lose you your position. I didn't see many of them. Were any of them tipped or otherwise not Booty's fault?

He doesn't have to be. I think if Sanchez is merely average, USC has a good chance of not losing another regular season game (including Cal and Oregon). They have a ton of talent at the other positions.

After watching what they did to Tennessee, you will get no argument from me. Cal and LSU look to be the two best in the country at this point in the season. Would love to see them play.

                            The problem with Cal

is they are consistent in their inconsistency. In addition, their quality of play really drops off when they go on the road.

It has been ages since USC has been relatively weak at QB. It's so... strange to see it.
