On my side, Bertuzzi and Bobby Ryan really hurt my totals. BOth were late round guesses that have good upside.

ON goalies we have a mixed bag-- I trail you by 16 wins and 3 shutouts while save percentage is a mixed bag

Questions actually abound for both of us. Can Hasek excel yet again? How will Vokun react to a new team? Can Emery/Nabokov have big numbers now starting as the undisputed number ones. Can Colorado and Washington surge up the standings? ( My answer is Col- YES, Washington-- up a bit)

I will say that this league has increased my interest in all the games

Me too-- Perhaps it was just an experiment but I had read it might be in the works--It could be a nice bonus for Jonny if Marleau gets a winger designation too

Stastny is tied with Spezza with 8 points in the pre-season (and he hasn't played all the games).

JP Dumont is up there also.

I wondered why they were absent from the Sharks game when so many of the Flames "A" team played-- ( and when, despite it being only pre-season, the coach would desparately want a win.

So -- how does the injured reserve work again? I am looking through the yahoo stuff but I haven't come across it yet

You can move a player onto the IR once Yahoo has identified him as being on the real life IR - once again, Yahoo isn't always the fastest at doing this. Once the player is on the IR, he's removed from your active roster until you reactivate him, allowing you to pick up another player. You can keep the player on the IR as long as you want - well past the time he actually returns to action if you wish - but as soon as you take him off the IR, you will need to drop another player from your roster (assuming you picked up another in the first place). The player that you drop from you roster need not be the same one you picked up as a replacement.

If yahoo is slow, isn't it unfair to the poolie involved? For instance if T

If X, perhaps, but not for T.

Sorry poly is freezing on me in weird ways--

I was saying-- IF Tanguay were really hurt, say 4-6 weeks, it would seem unfair to me that my choices are to drop him or to hold him when someone else might get the benefit of injured reserve status just because yahoo was quicker to recognize it

I would think it fairer that if a player is truly on an NHL injured list, that we let his amanger "drop " them immediately with the understanding that no one touch them until after they are no longer on such injured list. When yahoo notices becomes moot if we did something like that.

Thankfully tanguay is not hurt that bad apparently but whomever owns boyle SHOULD be able to pick up a replacement now regardless of when yahoo notices IMHO without having to risk Boyle to some opportunist taking adavantage of quirks/defects in the yahoo system

I think it's kind of a risk. If the player is on the IR, Yahoo is usually pretty quick at adding him to the IR. The most common problem is teams don't add players to the IR always even if they're injured for long periods of time, which leads to "DTD" status for them which means they likely won't play and earn points, but they can't go on the IR.

I think maintaining a list of players off-limits for other managers would be problematic and perhaps be confusing.

Everyone's at the same disadvantage w.r.t. yahoo not being quick in all cases, I say we just stick with whatever happens.

So equal risk to everyone-- fair enough

That day to day designation must be super frustrating.

Guys - the regular season has started. Make sure if you have players on LA or Anaheim, you have your rosters set. I notice that Guy doesn't have his players set yet against me. I hate winning the cheap way.
