Amazingly, Tottenham are the second highest goal scorers in the PL - yet they are one point above the relegation zone. The defending has been appalling - I expect Ramos will strengthen that area in Jan.

We started with 3 up front against Birmingham, I guess he's decided we can't guarantee clean sheets with the players with have (fit at least), so told them to go all out and kill the game early, which might have worked had we put away our chances, and Birmingham's winner was an unstoppable screamer.

There is a noticeable difference in our attacking though, the ball is passed quicker and possession is clearly recycled better than under Jol. He also made crucial attacking subs against Aalborg at half-time to come back and win from 0-2 down.

Ramos changes clearly made the difference at half-time, I rarely saw that with Jol in charge, in fact he often let games slip away when they got tough. I'll still wait to see how we perform with our first choice defence fit but the first impressions are good.

I can't believe the way Liverpool got stomped yesterday. By Reading no less. Heartbreaking.

I hope there's no carryover into the CL. It would be devastating if they can't even make it to the group stages.
