  • Great game between LA and Pachuca.

Beckham went off injured after like 20mins. Pachuca score, end to end stuff for the next 60mins, LA equalise in stoppage time with an overhead kick Now waiting for extra-time.

    • Pachuca wins on penalties with Abel Xavier missing the last pen for LA.

The best part was Donavan missing his pen that would've won it, especially after he delayed for so long kneeling and praying Great stuff

      • And seeing as no Belgian teams are in the CL this year, I'll get to watch several games involving English clubs!!

I'm not too surprised you omitted to mention Arsenal strolling past Sparta Prague 5-0 on aggregate to join the group stage.

Fabregas was awesome when he came on. Two goals from midfielders, (Cesc and Rosicky) one from the new Croazilian striker Eduardo , and a half-decent atmosphere in the ground for once. Long may it continue.

I almost missed the first goal due to big queues at the turnstile. Lucky it wasn't two minutes earlier.

Sparta were rubbish though, nothing surprising or exciting about Arsenal cruising through.

As I said, Donovan's a frickin' *****. Can't wait to see him replaced on the national team by the likes of Altidore.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

The whole Beckham project is looking like an expensive disaster for all converned. Except perhaps Victoria.

Well, it's mostly their fault. There seemed to be a rushing back of him from injury.

And of course it isn't an expensive disaster. Look at the shirt sales and higher ratings because of all of the attention MLS recieved. Sure it's a disappointment because of the injury, but the MLS hasn't been in the US sports pages like this ever.
