If he was hit in the eye, for real, why would they go to the hospital for "precautionary reasons"? If he was hit in the eye, I'd imagine there'd be a more pressing need than being cautious."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Lebda says he has a concussion too. What horse****.
That whole team is full of fakers, embellishers, and divers. Lebda was mentally fine after the punch, the problem was he stupidly and awkwardly crashed into the boards after his attempted submarine. I'm sure you, as a doctor, know the symptoms of a concussion and I'm sure you know he didn't have one."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Holmstrom day-to-day with eye injury
April 23, 2007
ASSOCIATED PRESS
DETROIT — Red Wings forward Thomas Holmstrom is day-to-day with an eye injury after Calgary’s Craig Conroy hit him with his stick at 6:44 of overtime in Detroit’s 2-1 series-clinching victory over the Flames on Sunday night.
“No long-term effect,” Detroit coach Mike Babcock said Monday.
Conroy received a double-minor penalty for high-sticking when he lifted his stick and hit Holmstrom’s eye.
Babcock said defenseman Brad Lebda is day-to-day with a concussion and ankle injury.
Lebda hasn’t played since being punched by Daymond Langkow in Game 5 on Saturday. Lebda was called for a tripping penalty and was punched by Langkow while both were close to the ice.

I read that article, and I heartily dismiss it was more Detroit fakery.
Look at the punch -- if he got a concussion from that, he'd get a concussion every time he threw a frickin check.
As luck would have it, a random Detroit fan posted a reply to that video:
langcow is a cheap dirty mother****er. Iginla is a god damn ****** jungle ape baboon. **** the flames. they are a cheap team and are sore losers. Langcow should be ****iing suspended and fined. **** the ****ing flamers.

Yes. I do. Do you? What medical school did you graduate from again?
I also know it takes a much harder hit than what Langkow gave him to concuss someone. Also, hitting the jaw of somebody makes it even harder to concuss them.
I also know that the only reason "concussion-like symptoms" were vaguely thrown out is because Lebda injured his ****ing legs on an attempted submarine. And what is more likely to solicit a suspension from the league against Calgary's top player? Acting like one of your guys was injured by Langkow's actions, or acknowledging your guy was injured by one of his low-bridge, illegal hits on one of the other team's top players?
Babcock knows how to play this game. He's got a bit of a rep for it, just like Hasek does. Divers, fakers, embellishers, and pussies.
That's why I can't cheer for Detroit."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Wow. You found a Detroit fan who happens to be racist. Shocking. There couldn't possibly be any racist Calgary fans.
And yes, the Associated Press is in on the anti-Calgary Flames conspiracy as well.

Your team's full of fakers and drama queens. Accept it, and don't hide behind your degree to excuse it. It doesn't take an MD to realize a low-velocity punch to the jaw from somebody laying down isn't going to concuss someone.
Why do you think Langkow wasn't fined, suspended, or reprimanded, by the way? The league knows what Babcock is up to, too."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Not bitter. Detroit played better hockey and won.
I'm a bit upset that Detroit fans and players are pretending to take the high road when they're notorious for their fakery and cheap shots."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Do you remember Hatcher's attack on Lombardi in '04 in the Flames vs Wings, BTW? Lombardi was out for months. Still took him half a season to get back on track."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Message needed to be sent, McLennan drew straws and got to send it.
Also notice how Schneider fell during the crosscheck.
