I also get that the terms of these broadcasts restrict broadcast OUTSIDE of specified regions, rather than INSIDE a la MLB.
For instance, I appreciate that I can use NHL CI to stream hockey games in North America next season (handy for business). I would not appreciate the MLB blacking out games from online streaming when I'm in NA.
I get it, Tingkai. You're really upset because the NHL hasn't stepped into the cultural backwaters of China to provide streaming there. I'm not so sure this is a problem we can blame Bettman on. I'm sure airing hockey in a region of poverty with a corrupt government is a top priority of anyone in the top chair of the NHL, right?

The NHL offers a very limited package, (fewer games than Center Ice TV) and is only available in North America, with lots of local blackouts.
MLB and the NFL offers a complete package in and outside of North America, with blackouts in North America only for nationally televised games (ones that North Americans can watch on TV).
MLB even has a complete archive of season games. The NFL offers games from the previous week.
The NHL is way behind on online games, and as a result it is missing out on markets like the 200,000 Canadians in Hong Kong, one of the richest cities in the world, let alone the giant market in the European hockey countries.
It's this type of tunnel vision that is hurting the game.
