If not, can you explain the precise meaning of the phrase?
Picking up and dropping players on a daily basis to get as many games as possible in per week.

You're probably right.
It's dropping and picking up a player position to get stats everyday instead of sticking with your squad for the full week.
It drives Asher nuts ever since I did it to cover for an injured gaolie earlier this year.

Though I won't use the colourful wording and creative way of describing just what he finds annoying, I will attempt to answer this..........
Schedule Whoring - Attempting to maximize the number of man games you have in a week by dropping inactive players and picking up players on a short term basis (one game or so).
Why is it a bad thing? Asher would tell you that the idea of a Fantasy pool is drafting a player for the long term, and if that player isn't working out, dropping them and picking up someone else as a replacement, again for the long term. By picking up and dropping players repeatly you are taking advantage of the fact that you have more free time and internet access then the other players rather then beating them through superior knowledge of Hockey.
NYE takes the opposite view that by picking up and dropping players you maximize your potential points in any given week at any given time.
I have come to realize that both strategies have advantages, and have finished (higher than both of them I might add) 2nd in our regular season standings by picking up short term picks when needed, but for the most part sticking with my draft picks from the start of the year.
It is ironic that they disagree so adamantly on this issue, as the two of them, along with Hot Mustard, had by far and away the highest number of player changes throughout the season.
Accurate summary? Feel free to correct me if I am wrong!

Ah, yes, it is indeed what I thought it was, though more specifically defined. I don't have a problem with it personally, though I think it's probably not an optimal strategy to do on a regular basis, as you lose quality of player. It's probably only good to do when you have injuries preventing you from putting up front line players, and/or when you have a few stars surrounded by a bunch of mediocre waiver-wire quality players.

Or the competition is based on a league where it is wildly unpredictable which players will register on the scoresheet on any given night.
Not having PiMs, hits, blocked shots (the later two not possible) reduces the number of stats and decreases the number of players who can be expected to do well in the league on any given night.

Pittsburgh, PA (Sports Network) - The Pittsburgh Penguins have reportedly reached an agreement with city, county and state officials for the financing of a new arena that will keep the club in Pittsburgh for the next 30 years.
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, specifics of the $290 million deal will be announced Tuesday, prior to the Pens' game against Buffalo at Mellon Arena, which has housed the club since joining the NHL in 1967.
The Penguins' lease at the 46-year-old Mellon Arena, which is the oldest facility remaining in the league, expires on June 30, at which point the team is free to leave.
The city-county Sports & Exhibition Authority will own the arena, which will be operated by the Penguins, under the terms of the 30-year lease. The state will pay $7.5 million annually from a state economic development fund and slot machine revenues.
Don Barden, who owns Majestic Star Casino LLC, has been awarded the slots license for Pittsburgh, and will pay $7.5 million a year. The team will pay $3.8 million a year, in addition to $400,000 a year in capital improvements, according to the newspaper.
Mediated by NHL commissioner Gary Bettman, the agreement was reportedly reached last Thursday between club co-owners Mario Lemieux and Ron Burkle, PA governor Ed Rendell, Pittsburgh mayor Luke Ravenstahl, and Allegheny County chief executive Dan Onorato.
Before the agreement Lemieux threatened to relocate the team and trips to Las Vegas and Kansas City ensued, as those two cities tried to woo the Penguins from the Steel City.

I guess Fantasy Soccer is probably even worse, then, given that similarly to Hockey it has little other than scoring and assists to track stat-wise, unless you count things that a lot of places probably don't track?
Though i'm quite surprised hits and blocked shots aren't tracked by Yahoo. Those are both available on other stat providers from what I've seen...
Looking at the options you have available, there really isn't much that occurs on a regular basis for most players. Eek. I'm surprised passing accuracy/turnovers aren't in there, also...

One of the problems with hockey in the stats category compared to baseball or gridiron is the speed of the game. Sorting out who got what assist can be a problem. Keeping track of passing and turnovers accurately is impossible without a section of the seats turned over to the league for a horde of observers.

Yet basketball has a turnovers category with no difficulty, and it's at a similar pace. Admittedly it's somewhat easier to control a basketball than a puck (and therefore much fewer turnovers), but at least that stat I would think could be relatively easily scored... and since we have television, they don't have to lose any revenue to do it. As long as they get the Versus channel at NHL headquarters
