I am dumbfounded by this. You don't think Fleury is/will be a top NHL Goalie?
Possibly the latter. The questions is, can the Pens go far before they have to gut their salary structure to resign Crosby? He's got one year left on his deal; Malkin and Staal will have two after 06-07. Preventing cap implosion was the main reason the Pens thought long and hard about sending Staal down after his first 10 games (as an aside, I'm beginning to think the younger Staal is better than the older one. Their dad said it best: when everyone was fretting about the pressure on the younger brothers, they were saying "if Eric can do it, we know we can!").

Who do you think will win Saturday?
You can never underestimate Ovechkin, but I think the Isles have enough grit and determination to pull it out.

Not even a fight. What a bunch of kittens.
MacT should be gone, gone, gooooone!
Thought it was a reasonably good Flames effort and it was great for them to get a road victory of any type-- If they can win in St. Louis, maybe they can start putting the road slump questions behind them

So should half of your roster, but you guys went the Edmonton route of overpaying for mediocrity in long-term deals.
It's time to switch the banners in Rexall to "You're in Rebuilding Country!"

They beat a team missing several major pieces.
They beat a team whose coach wouldn't allow anyone on the bench to fight, or show a sign of fighting.
The Flames beat a beaten team, or at least one that isn't allowed to do what it takes to win. Don't count on this for the playoffs.

I KNOW the opposition will be tougher in the playoffs. But the Flames road efforts had been so pathetic that I was happy to see ANY victory.
I don't know if you watch many Flames games but the difference in play has been startling. The two Phoenix games last week were the most graphic example.
The Oil showed way more life than they had the previous two games despite being a team with some major deficiencies. The Flames played well enough to win, something that they hadn't done for a long long time on the road
