    To be fair, the Buffalo arena is all of 5 km from the Canadian border.

          I do recall Bob Probert knocking Tom Barasso around, but that was a long time ago (perhaps it's something in Lake Erie). Keeping away from goalies is part of the "code" of fighting, but if any netminder would approve of such encounters, it's Emery.

          Unlike this fight, which was the result of a tough hit on a star Sabre, instigating a fighting is a good way for a team to get motivated after lackluster play. In the latter cases, the person starting the fight usually asks the other guy before they begin. It's hardly ever an ambush or even a spontaneous thing.
