    Yep. Some nice passing though.

    • Cracking try. I think Williams is like Robinson was at his best - he doesn't know where he is going so the defence has no chance of knowing.

Nice to see the Ospreys down Scarlets - I thought they were far the better of the two (despite the Llanelli mob turning up in shirts claiming to be "Tiger Hunters").

And what is it with Welsh fans and leaving early? This is not football...

      • Big effort from Worcester. Good on 'em.

        • Interesting weekend all round. Worcester deserved their win (and therefore survival) and one of the best supported and financially well backed clubs in England gets relegated. So long Saints – you won’t be missed.

You missed the real pivotal result of the weekend of course – Tigers beat Wasps and by doing so eliminated them from the play offs. Now all we need to do is beat the hateful insects at twickers and their misery is complete. I have my ticket secured.

Now a question for you SH types – was there a huge amount at stake in the Brumbies-Crusaders game? As a show case for S14 it sucked – I haven’t seen such an error strewn game served up all season. Turnover after turnover – knock on after knock on. Both sides looked as nervous as kittens. It was so darn tedious that I gave up on it at about 55 mins when it was still 9-3 and it looks like I only missed three more penalties? A tryless game in S14 – whatever next?

One positive about it was that I liked what I saw of Mauger – a good signing for us I think. Apart from that it was a case of just noting players that are heading north after the world cup – there were an awful lot of them on the field.

Thinking about that with Jennings going back to Leinster we need another world class 7 – that lad McCaw got sin binned for Professionally killing ball and that should make him fit right in for Tigers. It is after all very clear that NZ cannot hold onto anyone that we really want up here (he says trying to bait Ravagon back to smack him down).

Does Chris Jack’s current injury (hamstring?) threaten his taking part in the world cup? Lock seems to be becoming a real problem for NZ as I read that several of the other squad locks are carrying injuries? Can I just say as well that I wonder who is advising Jack – why on earth sign for Saracens when he could have joined a big club?

          • I didn't miss Leicester-Wasps. I chose to ignore it. But it was amusing hearing the Sky commentators at the Worcester match fantasising about Wasps steaming home, pipping Leicester, and making the finals.

Pity P. Sanderson will only ever be a very good club player. England seem to have a few of those types.

The Brumbies-Crusaders match was wet, slippery and chilly. Canberra in autumn for you. Not a great spectacle, but pressure-packed all the same. Defences were supreme. Brumbies had to win to keep their finals hopes alive. Crusaders wanted to secure a home semi. Carter's missed penalty at the end would have done that. It crossed my mind watching A. Mauger that you would be pleased. Very good player. Classic Kiwi #12, or second five-eighth as they call them.

And about time R. McCaw was pinged. He's so English in his approach to the laws.

Yes, the Kiwi locks are dropping like flies. C. Jack's hammy is torn. He'll be back for the World Cup. I've seen quite a bit of the dreaded T. Flavell. Playing very good rugby, and also, thankfully, behaving himself. If only he could continue to concentrate on his rugby. It's not his fault the Blues have fallen in a heap.

            • Poor old J. Brain. Worcester stays up, he gets the flick. The boss says they should have done better this season. From my observation, having seen them about three times this season, they're a good handful of players short of what's required to be seriously competitive.

Yes, it's conceivable that the Blues won't make it to the finals. If they lose to the Force, and the Brumbies beat the Highlanders, that is.

                • Their decline has been astonishing. I saw them early in the season, when the AB players were being rested, and they were mighty powerful. As soon as the AB players returned, they fell in a heap. The Bulls absolutely destroyed them on the weekend.

                    And Mike Ruddock is back...

                    As is our boy Gavin.
Hook is also going down under, so hopefully we'll get to seem them playing together for Wales.

Also, Blues can go top of the ML tonight with a win over Dragons.

I also hope England get a new arsehole ripped in SA.

                    • Crikey - talk about a safe bet. With Wasps, Tigers and Bath players excluded from the mix England will get far more than that ripped.

Then again Wales aren't going to win a game on tour either - and whats the excuse for them?

                      • That they also, will all be staying at home?

Still, I'll take a bet with you that Wales' aggregate score on tour betters England's.

                        • Talk about another safe bet. S. Williams will score more tries than England on his Pat Malone.

                          • I'll take that bet Finbar (as I rather believe little Shane is being rested from this tour).

Australia will beat Wales twice I think - but the realist in me accepts England will fair worse against the Boks as the squad just won't have much experience to it.

Why are they even bothering? Not that the Wallabies will be that flash. No front row, third choice full back. The usual.

The way their S14 teams are going, or most of them, the Boks are looking good.

                              • The usual - only this time it describes both the Wallabies and their opponents.

In a World Cup year enforcing these summer tours is utterly ridiculous - but then thats the IRB for you.
