  • Well, missing the goalie minimum sucked, but really all it cost me was changing one tie to a loss, since Dom had a bad week as it was.

Of course now with this minor injury, I may struggle to reach goalie games for a while...

    • The NHL and NHLPA quietly amended the CBA last week, allowing clubs to extend entry-level players on the same basis they extend any other player in the last year of a contract, meaning they don't have to wait for the deal to expire.

Good news for the Flames w.r.t. Phaneuf...

      • Now that the Oilers got shut out by the worst defensive team in the league, can we officially say their season is over?

and the Redwings lost 6-1 to the FLYERS-- one game is not that meaningful

The Oilers remain a mere 6 points out with 25 games to go so they are hardly over. They have lots of games left with the teams they are chasing too.

BUT losing to a Boston team that HAS conceded this season is a very poor sign.

Meanwhile Colorado climbed to 8 points out with a win over Anaheim. This week they get Colorado 3 times and Vancouver once. They NEED at least 6 points from those games IMHO just to keep their faint hopes alive

          • Ninot ???

Please tell me something to give me hope. The Habs being a mere TWO points up on two teams that EACH have TWO games in hand is NOT encouraging. Are there any encouraging signs ( other than the fact that it cannot be any worse than it has been)

            • And for the poor Oil last night was ther worst case scenario-- IN a Minny-vancouver matchup you know that someone has to pick up two points but the single point for the other team is just an insult.

The next couple games will likley tell the tale for both Colorado and Edmonton. Without a significant string of wins NOW those teams are done and there could conceivably be no real playioff race in the west this year

                • Forsberg is now a Predator...

Sources tell TSN the Nashville Predators have agreed to trade Scottie Upshall, Ryan Parent, a first round pick and a third round pick to the Philadelphia Flyers for Peter Forsberg.

It is important to note that while the two teams may have agreed on the players involved, the deal is not official until it is approved by the league via a trade call involving both teams and NHL Central Registry. Sources say that call has not been completed, so it is premature to say that the deal has been finalized, only that it has been tentatively agreed to by both teams and it is expected.

                      • It is now highly unlikely the Preds will be caught for home ice, and with saavy guys like Kariya and Forsberg leading the way in the playoffs, they are unlikely to squander it.

I don't know and I was at the game. The Flames totally dominated the first period and even though the Avs scored late in the first . . . the Flames had a 4-2 lead midway through the first.

It seemed like the Flames just had defensive lapses mainly from Robin Regehr-- He was minus 2 on the night(Phaneuf and Hamrlik were plus 3 and 2 respectively) and was directly responsible for coughing up the puck on at least two of the 4 goals he was on the ice for .

Also Kipper was no prize tonight. He let in one very weak goal and made none of his usual superative save. But he was not really that much to blame as the Flames allowed the Avs to march out from behind the net far too many times

I am very troubled by this team-- They have loads of talent but they really don't seem to be gelling into an elite team
