Rivera has apparently signed on as a linebacker coach with San Diego. So SD got Turner and Rivera.

I don't know what Rivera would be like as a head coach, but I do know what Turner has been like. I think SD should have made Rivera the head coach.
Or kept Schottenheimer. Like Peter King said, how can he & the GM not figure out a way to make it work for the team, which has been pretty successful?

It appears that AJ Smith is just that much of a jerk. And Schottenheimer wasn't his hire.
Personally, I think Rivera will be a better head coach than he is a coordinator (assuming he gets the opportunity). Kinda hard to say, though, since he was basically just running Lovie's system.Apolyton's Grim Reaper 2008, 2010 & 2011

Dolphins hire Shea as QB coach
Former Rutgers head coach had success with Chiefs
MIAMI (AP) -- Former Rutgers head coach Terry Shea has been hired as quarterbacks coach of the Miami Dolphins, the team said Monday.
Brad Ohrt also joined new coach Cam Cameron's staff as assistant strength and conditioning coach, and the Dolphins signed punter Ryan Flinn.
Shea, who began his coaching career in 1968, was at Rutgers from 1996 to 2000 and went 11-44. He was the Kansas City Chiefs' quarterbacks coach in 2001-03 and 2005-06, and was offensive coordinator with the Chicago Bears in 2004.
Shea helped Chiefs quarterback Trent Green earn the second Pro Bowl berth of his career in 2005, and last season he helped Damon Huard compile a career-best 98.0 passer rating as a replacement for an injured Green.

It amuses me that one of the knocks on Marty was that he couldn't lead a team to the SuperBowl and then the Chargers go and hire freaking Norv Turner, who has problems even getting to the playoffs!“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Norv Turner is 1-1 in the playoffs, while Schottenheimer is 5-13. Therefore, Norv Turner is a better coach than Schottenheimer. My logic is undeniable.Originally posted by Imran Siddiqui

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense. The Chargers should've hired Bill Callahan, who has more SuperBowl appearances than Schottenheimer and Turner combined.
