For one thing this is the 'gay' Civ site and after Asher went to WPC and trolled me there, and disparaged the Apolyton Houses here I came here and trolled him about his gayness here. That was a bad thing to do and a mistake. For one thing I really have nothing against gays, have friends here in the Phils who are gay. Other gays here at Poly where naturally bothered. Should not have done it guys, sorry.

For another thing this is now a troll site and I'm not here to troll any more, I'm trying to get people to see what they've become by continuously feeding off each others cynicism and bitterness. I believe that by mocking, essentially judging others day in and day out without remorse the people here have taken on a manner that doesn't allow them to like others who don't do as they do. They judge me as someone who doesn't fit in, and they are right.

Its okay MikeH, I'm not usually bothered by the petty insults unless they come from people I trusted. Most such people are gone from this forum now. Some to WPC, others just moved on. My time is over and it was a good time indeed which happened at a point in my life that I needed the pleasant diversion. A fond memory as a for instance... A decade ago as I was about to leave on a 6 month trip here to the Philippines where we had no internet Sten Sture made a thread wishing me well and maybe 100 people added on their good wishes. It was just started when he left and so he printed it out vand sent it through snail mail. Great guy. That felt good. It was at a later time that Dolores and I had a visit from Safronia and Karen Mills visited us in our home here and shared their story. When I came back to the US I started the search for Karen's father, Safronia's husband, that turned into the effort to build them a house. Derek, also gone, sent the first contribution without being asked. When I talked about his contribution others got involved and so we settled on a project that would help them by getting them away from the abuse the two women got from the husband of Safronia's sister. The first Apolyton House thread was started. In my efforts to raise money Zkribbler, also gone from Poly, made a proposal to double any money that came in up to a certain amount. It was a great time. Like anything though there were critics who accused me of all sorts of misdeeds. I was very glad when Zkrib and Theben came here and visited Safronia and Karen in their new home, they could kick the tires so to speak and Zkrib took pics. Of course the trolls were never completely silenced but it did wonders and when the second house came up a few years later it was easier in this regard. Aeson contributed to that house which was a great thing for him to do, and he visited that one.

Some told me that the Apolyton House didn't belong on Poly but the owners had the first thread topped in the OT and it was their decision what belonged. Btw that was the first ever stick thread in the OT. Others said that they gave at home and I respect that.

The controversy I described set some people to not liking me, MikeH, in response to your question. It was well worth it though.

So like I said many of my friends are gone, though it seems my critics abound. Some like the gays, well that's my wrong doing and I regret that troll. They must get way too much of that in real life.
