Oh yea, KH... remember I did swear an Oath to protect the Constitution and the free people of the US. I know the Constitution, actually I have a copy of it on my desk at home, and a copy of the Bill of Rights, Articles of Confederation, and some of the Federalist papers. So you can question my knowledge of our founding documents all you want. I know what I am talking about.
No, you don't. It's black letter law. States do not get to play the immigration game. The feds do.
You don't seem to understand the point. Federalism sucks dick. We don't care.
Do you understand yet? Do not care.

OK, I will bargain with you. You believe that states do not have the right to implement laws to protect their borders, citizens, and rights. OK. So what would you say would be legal, just, and effective in curtailing the overwhelming masses of illegal immigrants? How would you say the federal government is working currently to ensure that border states such as Arizona are being protected through federal law?
And to quell my curiosity, what state do you happen to live in?

I don't know for sure, but I think they call them Provinces in Canada.

KH, you nicked a nerve on me. Put on a uniform and go to war and tell me what you know of federal lawmakers dictating the Constitution. Please, go get shot at for a year in a combat zone and tell me how you feel about the federal government not listening to the voice of the people.
You want to know why I have some of the beliefs I do? I spent a year in the hot zone being shot up, blown up, and mortared. All the while some bureaucrat sat in a cushy desk chair dictating how I would fight the war. I studied the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and all sorts of other government documents in my free time so don't try to question my resolve. Take a look at your own, and why you lean the way you do.

I should have warned you. He's adept at nicking nerves. He nicks mine all the time.

You believe that states do not have the right to implement laws to protect their borders, citizens, and rights.
a) States do not have citizens. They have residents.
b) They have whatever powers which they are not constitutionally prohibited from exercising. One of the STRONGEST prohibitions is against the states attempting to regulate matters dealing with their international borders, international trade, immigration and citizenship. Those powers are specifically granted to the federal government in article 8 of the constitution of the US. Tough ****ing titties. States are not wholly sovereign entities. If you don't like that, feel free to attempt to secede.
And to quell my curiosity, what state do you happen to live in?
Like you don't know, DL. I'm beginning to have an inkling that whoever created you was also behind Ned. I'm noticing similarities.
LOL, ****. Even if I believed your background story you'd simply be living proof of why the civilian authorities are superior to the military ones in all sane systems.
You don't even know what the constitution you claim to have sworn to protect says.
That's it right there. The difference between Socialists and the Constitutionalists. You believe that the states basically have no say in their own well being, that citizenship is to the Federal Government? That the people are slaves to the government that is supposed to serve us? That we created? Big government solves all problems right?
And dude, how the **** hard is it for everyone to figure out by now I am not a ****ing DL. Here, I will even put my own picture up as my avatar.

he lives in Guangdong with his family (including his father?) where he teaches ESL to people in some unnamed corporate structure
he spent a year "in the hot zone" (note: no specifics on dates or places)
he's spent inordinate amounts of time studying US constitutional law and founding documents, yet is completely unaware of even the most basic principles of these subjects
Also, didn't Ned claim to have a Filipina wife? And he also claimed to be a lawyer, as I recall.

Wow. Usually I respect everyone even if they have a differing opinion on matters. A good debate is a good debate. But you crossed the line. You want to question my background story?

I'm not a socialist. And I have no idea what economic systems have to do with the issue of federalism.
that citizenship is to the Federal Government
Citizenship is to the United States. Not to Arizona, Texas or any other state. I have no idea what you mean by saying that citizenship is "to the Federal Government".
That the people are slaves to the government that is supposed to serve us? That we created? Big government solves all problems right?
I have no idea what the size of government has to do with a jurisdictional matter.
