phoenix. from france, straight up indie/alt rockers. these guys have been around for years, but they've just released a new album. i first saw them supporting air on later with jools holland about 9 or 10 years ago and they absolutely rocked it. i wish someone would put up their version of 'kelly watch the stars' because i can't seem to find it anywhere.

i heart hiroshima. 3 piece indie band from australia, they released their first album about 18 months ago, but only now are starting to get the recognition they deserve.

one more. This band never got the fan recognition it deserved (critics generally liked them, however)
now some guitar shredding by Becker (a partner of Marty Friedman of Megadeth fame) inspired by Paganini (a most excellent violinist and composer). Aww how I miss shredding. Metal was so cool in the 80's.
