I discovered this song in one of my university courses on rock music. Pretty sweet.

In a similar country-rock kind of vein, I'm currently into Dead Confederate's "The Rat":
"The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

        Glasvegas - Geraldine:

        Silversun Pickups - Panic Switch:

        Spinnerette - Ghetto Love:

I really dig Ghetto Love's dirty kind of grindy feel to it.

          • His previous album is better?
i really loved chromophobia, most albums in that genre suffer from sounding like a collection of tracks thrown together, but chromophobia felt like a proper record. i think i'll have to listen to take my breath away some more and decide then.

asher: it's funny because i was never really a fan of the distillers, but i do like a lot of the stuff she's putting out with spinnerette (think i posted valium knights a few pages back).

                        • pretty much the 2 genres I listen to right now. I listen to a little bit of jazz, but only when a boring piano piece is on 89.7. Otherwise it is http://www.classical897.org/ all the way.

I'll start you off with a couple popular pieces.

4:28 is when it really starts to get good. give it a chance. and after 7 it gets even better.

ahh one more for the hell of it. couple mid 80's lesser known ones.

Both songs are so full of kindness, and an infinitely forgiving mercy, that they turn a bad day into an all-right one, and a good day into a great one for me.

                            • wow after listening to the songs in this thread I realize how bizarre my musical tastes are. The music I listen to sounds nothing like u guyz' music. With the exception of the most excellent Police song. Kudos.

This song has been covered probably thousands of times. But these chicks are cool. No utube available for this particular song, but click the link and hit play.
