Some books are more boring than others but some are excellent like 'Chasm City', 'Century Rain' and 'The Prefect'.

How about some Charles Stross then?

I just finished "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" as well as Orson Scott Card's book "Sarah", which was simply lovely.
He died you know. If the last one comes out at all it will have to be based on his notes.

Is Orson writing good stuff again? For awhile there, his stuff was getting muddled.

Great Oogly Mooglies!! I stumbled across Orson Scott Card's Empire. I'm about 1/3 of the way through. It's the best political thriller I've read in years -- better than The DeVinci Code and in the same league as the ending in The Sum of All Fears. Stupendous!
