Here's a good summary for you: https://youtube.com/shorts/emGPdmv79...o1HFjdJsxNZvdLOriginally posted by N35t0r View Post
No, I was full of useless spectacle already with the half-time show; I turned the TV off shortly after the game.
Surely you must have seen Argentina's dirty fouling and gamesmanship during the game though...? 😢"Aha, you must have supported the Iraq war and wear underpants made out of firearms, just like every other American!" Loinburger

That's a pretty ****ty summary TBF. Very one-sided, and a lot of selective editing, when you can very surely make a similar point (of course, not if your intention is only to drive hate against Argentina) without doing all of that.
In any case, my post is up there saying that Argentina played like **** and that Spain deserved to win. I also said that the ref wasn't up to the match, why the **** do you think I did?

I must be too used to Argentine football, because I don't see a brawl there. Paredes is behaving like an ******* towards the Spanish player, who eventually decides to push him and that's pretty much it. If that's a brawl, then Bellinham's slapping Barco behind the head after the England-Argentina match is a full-on war lol.Indifference is Bliss

That's a lot of words to say nothing at all about what happened during or after the game, I thought you had a point.Originally posted by I AM MOBIUS View PostOh right, you didn't see it, so it didn't happen 😅

Having to go back to 2013 to an official FC Barcelona visit to the West Wall to try and paint the whole of Argentina as anti-palestinian is pretty sloppy journalism though.Indifference is Bliss

"A lot of words about nothing" and "I don't see a brawl..."
What about the bit where the entire Argentina team turns their back on Spain receiving the world cup...?
That's one of the most hideous displays of unsportsmanship I seen in like, I actually can't think of another such complete example... 😢
You're right about the referee though. He did have a terrible game, in that more Argentine players should have been booked/sent off! For example, how your number 3 stayed on the pitch is a complete mystery to me... 🤷"Aha, you must have supported the Iraq war and wear underpants made out of firearms, just like every other American!" I think the word they were looking for is "handbagging" rather than brawl.Originally posted by N35t0r View Post

They're a bunch of rich *******s, but the head of the Argentine football association is a corrupt ******* and even more violent than them, so nothing will happen. :shrug:Originally posted by Thoth View Post

Maybe if the AFA gets fined enough someone will eventually do something, but until it really bites those at the top, the corruption will continue.Indifference is Bliss

Or we have a different understanding of the word brawl. A chaotic or disorganised physical altercation involving more than two people. Which was the case if you watch the full scenes of what happened.Originally posted by N35t0r View Post

i can go with “handbags” being a brawl as well. A bunch of girls pulling hair would also be a brawl. One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

Yeah, I now saw that (I googled it, because after asking you about it you sent me an article mapping the palestinian-israeli conflict to the Argentina-Spain match, which had nothing to do with the back turning. Nice of you to just change my words to claim I said something I didn't, but then again I don't really expect you to act civilly or honestly, so do whatever you want), I think they're a bunch of clowns and am happier that they lost.Originally posted by I AM MOBIUS View Post

The ref was terrible for both sides. Spain ending with zero cards was ridiculous, there were several pretty serious fouls, including two kicks against shins and someone outright pushed to the ground on a counterattack. Paredes deserved a lot more cards, Enzo is stupid for having complained, but it wouldn't have made a lot of difference since that last foul might have been a direct red.Indifference is Bliss
