We don't generally need it. And have you seen the cost of electricity here in the UK, it is f**ked. So we just have to cook I'm afraid, especially as our buildings are very effective at keeping warm but utterly lousy as being cool.

I saw this at the comments of a british paper and it surprised me. The cost of electrocity is not so big because the A/C technology has aadvanced so much in energy efficieny plus if you use it like it should be used (not open windows/doors etc) it's really not big of a difference. The bill ws just 10 euros more and I used it 1/3 of the time in summer. about the buildings not being able to "Accomodate" A/C (thick walks etc I dom't know. I also read something about stupid laws that prohibit instalation of A/C.
But they literaly do save lives. Noone in Greece had A/C before the '80s. And then a deadly heat wave happened and everyone started to stock up.
The climate IS changing and the new normal is always hotter
