    Time Flies:

Russia was a key ally of Assad's regime - the former president and his family will now reportedly get asylum there.

If they manage to take down Assad - good riddance. Also extra points for annoying Iran and Russia.

However, overall those without guns (various folks known as civilians) will probably still be on the receiving end of continued armed conflict between those with guns afterwards...

Over the weekend, many people asked regarding Assad:

            "But what about his whereabouts?"

And, what did he do? Did he perhaps heroically ask for ammo instead of a ride?

Nah, off he went, to Russia, as we now learn.

The leader of HTS is promising a 'moderate jihad'. lol. We'll see what happens.

The HTS chief has evolved from jihadist leader to rebel statesman while fighting to overthrow Bashar al-Assad.

Maybe some folks realize that after 50+ years of Assad brutality and 10+ years of civil war/terror/internal strife/armed group brutality they need a different approach, unless they want to have more of the same.

I'd wish this was the case, but 'fcourse it can turn out differently. Also remains to be seen what those are doing who back their pet factions in Syria.

In short, we have to wait and see.

Aleppo to Damascus is 3 days. Impressive.
Tel-Aviv is 200 kms closer to Damascus. Nice beaches in the area.

So Serb's "your lackeys will run away after three days" (or somesuch) was prophetic after all. Got everything right, except who did what and where, and in which war

Assad now sez he didn't want to leave, Russia left him no choice! Unbelievable.

In what appears to be his first reaction since fleeing Syria, the former president says Russia decided to airlift him to Moscow.

'Fcourse, body-crushing machine is also unbelievable, and yet...
