Never in the history of civilization have we decided who was a man and who was a woman based on their chromosomes. We did it based on mostly exterior physical characteristics, or the degree to which a person conformed to gender norms associated with a particular sex. We know now--only in the last century!--that chromosomes exist and that a particular set of them are primarily responsible for the development of biological sex. But even with this knowledge, it is still exceedingly rare--only in the contexts of some high-level sports competitions--that we would even think of identifying a person as a man or a woman based on their chromosomes. To do so would be a radical, extreme departure from the way society has operated for millennia.

Times change. Not long ago would a man dressed up like a lady be tolerated. And in a very competitive world like sports it does make difference. A big difference.

          I'm mixed on this issue.
If somebody has a penis, they should use the men's bathroom
If they don't... use the women's bathroom

When it comes to sports... stick to the chromosomes and in those really RARE cases where that doesn't work... testosterone levels.

Remember... I'm a former Republican who is now a moderate Democrat because of MAGA.
So yeah, I'm sure there are "some" things we can agree on.
But not on the "Dressed as a King" stuff... Skirt, Stockings, a cape... and more.

So are you gay, or is a person with XY chromosomes who by all appearances is "biologically female" a woman?

Ack, sorry, I assumed your sex. Do you have XY chromosomes? If not, maybe you're a lesbian.

Additional question, what percentage of a person's cells have to contain XY chromosomes for them to be "biologically male"?

I am pretty sure your chromosome make up is the same in each cell of your body... but would need to research that.

It usually is. But not always. And again, as with so many scenarios like that, how often would it ever be apparent that that might not be the case and might need to be checked?

I am going to say yes, same throughout entire body. For a given individual all cells come from the zygote. Formed at fertilization. I believe during mitosis, cell splitting. The exact genome will be passed.

Which figures from history were men, and how do you know?

Well, you're wrong. Sex chromosome chimerism is a thing.

Yeah well I think you got it wrong. Remember, you don't even know the difference between a male and female.

Fair enough if you want to obstinately continue to believe false things.
