I took a stroll at down town athens because why not. it is 28th of october the NO day when we said no to fascism (it's very complicated but that was indeed said).


So there are parades, school parades, military parades, everyone is celebrating how we ENTERED a war, and not how we ENDED a war as the rest of the planet.

In the US 04 July 1776 is celebrated. That was also basically when they entered a war (through an official declaration of independence) rather than celebrating the end of that war which came much later.

Pearl Harbor Day exists but isn't exactly a celebration.

maybe I'm wrong about that as well. No idea what Russia is celebaring. France is celebrating the end though. UK haveno idea (was not so different than the axis to be brutally honest)

The UK has no national day. I guess that's what happens when you're the subjugator and not the subjugated.

Do get fireworks and a bonfire on November 5, in celebration of foiling the gunpowder treason. V for Vendetta kind of skews the narrative.
