Israel has shown remarkable restraint.
The Gulf War showed that, because the UN asked it.
Israel handed out masks and shielded from Scud missiles. Forget all the ancient history

[Edit:] to put it into context, more than two third of gazans alive before the Israeli invasion hadn't been born yet.

Israel is committing and through negligence permitting potential war crimes to occur to achieve its unrealistic war objective (destroy Hamas and find all hostages in Gaza). We should hold Israel to account for that and pressure them to do it in an acceptable way. We sure as hell should not be characterizing it as "genocide" if we want Israelis to take us and what we have to say to them at all seriously.

I'm pretty sure that you could do whatever the hell you want, and Israel would still take you seriously if you keep sending them several billion dollars per year of aid.
If the US unilaterally dropped its $3.8 billion Camp David accord commitments in response to Israeli conduct in Gaza how much credibility would such commitments have for future peace settlements? More importantly how much change can the US expect from Israel for dropping its aid? a 180 by the IDF? What will the ceasefire state of the Gaza strip be? When Hamas follows up with 7 October part II-the sequel how many Gazan lives will have been spared when the dust settles from the response to that?

How far back shall we go to justify genocidal atrocities...?
What about the ICC and ICJ rulings?
There is an international warrant out for Netanyahu for war crimes. If he were to visit most of the rest of the world, including the UK, he would be arrested!
It's only countries that don't respect the international rule of law where he's safe to visit, like the US 👎
