I mean you can read her 82-page policy book. She will call on Congress to enact a Federal ban on price gouging so that corporations don't "exploit consumers during times of crisis." The document then goes through the details of currently enacted laws in Texas, North Carolina, New York, and Florida, which mostly amount to those states sometimes suing companies after disasters in response to complaints.

Maybe that's all stupid, but there's not really any evidence to suggest she's going to micromanage the food market across the country, and price gouging in general isn't something she's talked a lot about since announcing the proposal in August, and obviously it's very unlikely to become law... but sure let's argue she'll be just as bad on the economy as the guy whose entire economic plan, repeated at every opportunity, is to raise massive tariffs on everything through unchecked executive action as soon as he gets into office and to increase housing supply by using the military to deport all the "illegals."

I have not watched it because Trump/affiliated greasy people saying ignorant things is not news and I have very important old JRPGs to play. But it should be noted that

1. Trump is still doing very well among minorities by historical GOP standards, so whatever he's saying, at least some people aren't hearing or don't care.
2. People have been calling Trump a racist sexist etc for eight years now and it doesn't seem to have hurt him much, but this does distract from criticism on abortion, where he is actually vulnerable.

Thankfully, those laws are at least sometimes ignored, because they're idiotic. Prices raise for a reason, and forcing them to stay low causes the quickest shoppers to buy what they don't need "just in case" while the remainder go without. Then nobody comes in with more because it's not worth the hassle of moving goods through jacked-up roads for the same sale price you can get selling them in a pristine neighborhood. As someone who's been through the aftermath of a cat 5, I think "price gouging" is the normal and correct response to abrupt scarcity.

Also, it is not clear that Kamala would restrain herself to mere post-disaster scenarios, as she unveiled the plan in the context of nationwide inflation. She is certainly stupid enough to try it, as she also proposed unrealized gains taxes that would make the stock market basically unworkable by taxing borderline-hypothetical money. Not that Trump is not a complete nincompoop on economics as well, but yes, she certainly does seem to be proposing government micromanagement of the food market. If the government is saying it will punish you for raising the price above a certain point (which may or may not be well-defined), that would be a price control, yes.
