this is entirely incorrect. The Patriot was indeed designed with a target specification speed of only mach 5. However there is no basic law of physics that prevents tracking and intercepting arbitrarily fast objects by slow ABM systems. The patriot plots an intercept solution and if the target manoevering is inadequate it can still place the interceptor directly into the path of the faster target. It's not as if it ever has to "catch up" with it Serb.

If your tarheting system is designed to hit targets marching at Mach 5, you will never hit a target marching 2,5 times faster, because you will never have a correct data about its whereabouts the next moment, if it's maneuvering and not a ballisitc one, and even if it is a ballistic one, your targeting system will always be behind your target and you could never extrapolate where your target would be the next moment. Not to mention your 3 Mach interceptor missile would have a chance to intercept manevering 12 Mach target, even it was fired directly into the targets trajectory (no to mention, if it was fired from an angle).

The faster you move and the more you maneuver, the harder it is to hit you. Period!

I actually agree that Ukraine may currently be losing the war for a wide variety of reasons and that Ukraine and it's allies may want to conceal evidence of its defeat. I just don't agree that physics disallows the possibility of the patriot systems in Ukraine routinely intercepting and stopping kinzhal missiles. Also, Raytheon released a major update to detection and tracking hardware and software specifically to improve Intercepting of hypersonic targets in late 2019 which makes such interception seem even more plausible.

As far, as I've heard, Patriot has such a "panic" regime, when it fires all of its missiles, when he noticed the target, but can't fully track it in a real time. This is exactly what had happened on this video: Patriot have tried to create a cloud of missiles to save itself, but failed.

According to your Kiev sources they are hoplessly winning the war too.
In reality they forcibly mobilize every male up to age 60 on the streets, beat them and throw them to the frontline without any training. Just because they have no other choice to replenish their losses, because they loose 50 thousand man EVERY MONTH!!!​
