That reminded me how I've played chess with my tame pigeon.

No truer statement has ever been uttered. I have met quite a few Chinese Nationals and they all have had utter contempt for Russia.

Similarly, China is pushing BRICS for its own power and couldn't care less for any of these countries. It caring for Russia stops at the nearest pipeline, but they have a plan for that too. Economic co-operation will flood Russia with Chinese companies and money until one day no one will be able to tell where China stops.

Russia is doomed. It may be that Putin sees the writing on the wall and will want to throw himself on a Western sword and go out in a blaze of glory instead of fading into the Chinese shadow. Hard choices for a country that is quickly becoming third rate.
