The narrative is Trump lied but everything I've seen or heard from his Georgia call to various election challenges shows he believed the election was stolen. He spent an hour on the phone trying to convince the Georgia official his votes were disappeared, if he was lying he wouldn't have bothered. He would have told the guy to change the results instead of telling him to investigate the election.

You clearly don't understand the well-established fact that Trump's biggest skill is never *quite* saying such an obviously illegal thing directly. He's always been all about redirecting the narrative, suggesting without directly stating. Claiming a "sincere belief" does not stand as an excuse for clearly illegal acts. Clearly, a huge part of Jack Smith's prosecution in the federal case, as well as Fani Willis' in Georgia, will be toward establishing beyond a doubt that Trump knew damned well he had lost, then went ahead and tried to stay in power anyway.
And it appears they are well on their way.

A number of studies have found that people receiving vaccinations for flu and several other infectious diseases appear less likely than the unvaccinated to develop dementia, although scientists aren't sure why. Some believe that infectious agents play a role in the development of Alzheimer's disease and that vaccinations help by preventing or reducing the likelihood of getting these infections.
Alternatively, Schulz speculates that vaccines may curb an immune system reaction to amyloid plaque, a naturally occurring protein found in abnormally high levels in Alzheimer's. The immune system sees plaque as a foreign invader and attacks it, causing chronic brain inflammation and the death of nearby neurons, which contribute to dementia, he said.
In quelling the immune response to amyloid, vaccines may save brain cells that the body's immune system might otherwise kill, he said. It's also possible that vaccines strengthen the immune system's ability to get rid of plaque. "Fewer plaques lead to less inflammation and less brain cell loss," Schulz said, adding: "We aren't sure yet exactly what the mechanism is, but something is going on with the brain and the immune system that seems to make a big difference."
WAPO
Does this mean people who get sick more are at greater risk of Alzheimers or people getting flu shots are activating an immune response that inhibits the build up of plaque - or both? And if the flu vax quell's the immune response to plaques, does that mean the plaques accumulate faster or slower? Are the plaques the problem or the collateral damage from the immune system's attack? What does the plaque do if the immune system doesn't attack it?

Yes, those are all questions raised by the observation. Scientists will study this, test various explanations and theories, publish the results, check each others' work, advancing our knowledge and hopefully generating life-saving solutions. I am curious as to why this post is in the Politics Thread thread...

Again... JUST your opinion. Listening to the recording, it sure sounds like he was asking to have them change the results. I guess we shall see what an actual court decides... one that will look at actual facts.Keep on Civin'

But you are welcome to your opinion, and we shall see what a court of law has to say about it.

Again, just an opinion. One could even argue that the call itself was totally out of line. But again, just an opinion.
Let's see what a court of law has to say about it.Keep on Civin'

Looks like there's a new Speaker in da House
But from what I've read they left in the mechanism that a single one guy can initiate a motion to remove the speaker (which brought down McCarthy). Unless the House GOP magically resolves all differences this looks like a recipe for further trouble.Blah

Gaetz et. al. are protected by Gerrymandering. Thus, they feel immune from any fallout.“It is no use trying to 'see through' first principles. If you see through everything, then everything is transparent. But a wholly transparent world is an invisible world. To 'see through' all things is the same as not to see.”
