  • Monastere and serb

I'm drinking this french monasterial beer

it's veru strong and very nice. Recommend it

I'd just like to point out to serb, who is sensitive to cultural issues, that there is an immense richness in greek songs, from ancient times to byzantium times to very vibrant modern times. and most greeks by far listen to them. the songs are wonderful the melodies are mezmerizing and the lyrics make about most rck songs or english speaking songs seem very very poor in comparison.

    you comapre poerty with growls.

BUT. I like rock and roll. I like the growls.

but that is not representative of Greece. Not at all. It has a very vibrant very colourful music pandesia, musical universe, which, quality speaking is tons better than the average rock song.

But I like rock and the way I see it is we have so many restrictions in life, at least in music, let's be free.

Just wanted to share that and for serb to know

As a side note when the whole of greece was practically communsit after ww2 the decree was not to listen to rock because it dilutes the revolutionary spirit of youth

rocjk became known in the '40s because of the american bases and their radiostations in Greece. THey played it and it caught on like wild fire
with the flower power revolution there were tons of greek rock bands.

and what's funny is the authoritative regiems tried to crack it down. it represented a revolution they didn't like. both to the anti communsists and the communists.

f them all. whatever makes your soul vibrate you listen to it

having grown up abroad I grew up in it.

if you grow up north of france, there ain't no strong "national scenes"

        it's rock.

maybe it is also a way to cling on to my youth

        who knows

after all as a poet said country is the place of our children years

HOWEVER i understand that this alienates me from many of my countrymen.
it puts me in an elite group I never ever wanted to partake

          anyway

But it really struck me. I was staying at that hostel and there were parties every night with live music, and I said I know and I can actually sing each and every one of the songs you're playing
